I use to think you spoon people were crazy until my titanium spork cut through the vx21 of my side pocket and leaped into the Ouachita Forest. That night I used two pieces of wood as chopsticks to eat my delicious cold soaked ramen.
That's when I realized that a spoon would not have done that to my expansive AF pack, and wood has a nice mouth feel. So I picked up these bamboo spoons off of amazon. Each of these weighs 11-12g and is about 8 inches long. I could shave them down for weight savings, but I feel the weight to effort ratio isn't right.
So for cheaper and lighter, you get more spoons. But...what's cheaper than free! So I went down to the local Freebirds (Pro Tip: If you have a tattoo, go on a Tuesday and get free chips and salsa) and picked up a plastic spoon. 5 g for about a six inch spoon, plus Freebirds. I'm a little heavy handed with my gear though, so I've broken every single one of these.
Anyway, thanks dude, and to everyone else who actually read this unnecessarily long comment, for taking this deep dive into spoons with me. Lol.
The Skurka fav and UL miltiuse Showas would come in handy here. Keep dry, clear brush and bury the dead bodies.
