I LOVE mine. I did add https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01D0CTOHE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

And I love them. Yes the factory grip is good, but everyone who's held my Walther loves the grips.

I don't worry about it. The only time your finger should be on the trigger in a self defense scenario is if you are about to shoot someone. If you're walking around your house finger on the trigger turning corners like in some shitty cop TV show it might be an issue.

Go get yourself an airsoft or a rubber dummy gun and practice walking around your house with a gun drawn but not touching the trigger. Make that habit second nature and it will be easy should the time come.

Edited to add:

Go get this:
https://amzn.com/B00C1P4UUI
Or if you want to make it obvious that it's not a real gun get this

OR if you want to get something that seems to be a pretty decent BB gun get this
https://amzn.com/B004QBFLTY

If you're brave load them up with BBs and see how many dents you put in a wall and lamps you bust.

Yea they are. Threw a set of Meprolights on mine and they are awesome.

Here they are on Amazon. I paid a few bucks less but still a great deal.

I use this, along with MPro-7 gun cleaner and oil. I like Hoppes Number 9 gun cleaner better, but it stinks my house to high hell for 2 days, so I tend to use MPRO instead. Hoppes seems stronger and to me, it seems like it cleans quicker and requires less passes in my opinion. Also, nylon brush.

Also, you stated "clean it every once in a while". I'm going to stop you there and say you should clean it after every time you shoot it. Especially if you plan in carrying. Keep your guns clean, always. I'm not a neat freak....my house isn't a disaster, but it's lived in. I'm not good at cleaning my shower, or toilets, or dusting, or mopping, or vacuuming enough....but damn it, my guns are clean. I'm OCD when it comes to that.

YouTube how to strip it down and clean it. There isn't much to it.

Made some minor changes to my PPQ M1. I've never liked traditional 3-dot sights, and usually hate polymer sights, so I swapped out the factory polymer sights for a new metal set.

In front is the Dawson Precision PPQ/P99 0.125" wide ramp/serrated fiber optic. Remove original set-screw for polymer front, install Dawson with a hex-screw and some loctite.

In rear is a Turul Machined tool-steel rear sight (now available on Amazon, FYI). It's black, serrated, with a vertical white line. This is a 0.140" rear notch, and installs with the factory screw and post. Press-down pin to remove original sight, move internal screw to new sight, reinstall as normal. No fitting or hammering required.

Also installed the Apex Flatty trigger, which is as near to a 1911 trigger that I have ever felt in a polymer handgun. It's an amazing addition to an already great trigger mechanism.

I got mine off of Amazon. Here's a link.

By "glock front sight tool," do you mean this?

Are the mepros plastic or metal? (can't tell and didn't see anything that said one way or the other)

I have been carrying a CCP M1 in a DeSantis Gunhide IWB holster for at least a year now without any issues.

I can't help you with an OEM, but I can tell you I lose those things pretty frequently. I just buy these for $7 off Amazon and keep them in the gun room just in case.

I did not modify the sights at all. They glow in low light conditions.

assuming you are loading factory 9mm Luger ammo (aka 9x19mm) this should not happen.

things I would check:

make sure it's assembled correctly. not a lot to go wrong here, I don't know if you could even put it back together wrong, but I am sure there are videos to guide you in insuring you got it right.

once loaded, pull the slide all the way back, and let it fly. don't pull it back, wait, and let it go. pull it back all the way and let it go all in one movement. if you are nervous about live rounds, get some snap caps. I use snap caps for dry firing, they are worth it just to have around.

Just watch it because it will degrade.
Get a chopstick that fits all the way down the barrel so you can knock anything that gets stuck. And they do sell "snap caps" for 22 that are cheap.
