This Neewer lens worked great for me for a while, it's cheap and fast. I now own 2 sigmas , the 30mm and the 56mm so I can compare them against the Neewer lens. The Neewer produces great results although its definitely not as sharp as the Sigmas, but overall for $80 bucks you get nice bokeh and a nice prime. In my opinion the only problem with this lens is that it's manual focus only, but with focus peaking for photos you get nice enough results.

Just thought I would update with what I found and plan on getting: https://www.amazon.com/Fotodiox-Reversible-Lens-Hood-Kit-for-Sony-E-PZ-16-50mm-F3-5-5-6-OSS-E-mount-Power-Zoom-Lens-Reversible-Tulip-Flower-Hood-w-Cap-f-Sony-Kit-Lenses/dp/B00QR48GZE/ref=cm_cr_dp_d_rvw_txt?ie=UTF8

Would need to know your laptop specs, but there's not a ton of overhead on those cam link boxes.

You'd also need an HDMI micro cable to connect the cam link to the A6300.

If you plan to use the camera in 4k, you might hit some thermal issues if you're running it hours on end, but I'm not sure since it won't actually be recording.

EDIT: Also, the camlink should only be like $100 USD. The one you linked is older and probably out of production (hence the higher price). https://www.amazon.com/Elgato-Cam-Link-Broadcast-Camcorder/dp/B07K3FN5MR?th=1 is probably what you want.

To add to the card situation, you have to make sure it’s fast enough to handle 4K. This is the one I have this one

You can find screw in hoods on ebay. If you can't find the exact size, you can usually find step up rings that will fit the smaller diameter of the lens screw, and step-up to a screw size that a hood may use.

I've never really needed hoods for my stuff. Typically if I have flare I just hold up a small flag by hand.

If you want to get really crazy, there's [matte boxes] (https://www.amazon.com/SunSmart-Support-System-Matte-Cameras/dp/B00EYZ1OK2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485991907&sr=8-1&keywords=15mm+camera+flag) that go on 15mm rail systems.

Try shooting and see what you need.

I got this one. Fits camera + kit lens + 35mm lens. Has room for an extra battery or two as well.

I have this on my a6000 at the moment:

Peak Design MICRO Plate for Capture Camera Clip https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009YASO7I/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_IqmOybBC0M2EK

Doesn't get in the way of the LCD

Could you explain that to me on why the 35mm on a crop sensor is not as wide as I may think.

I'm new to the Sony game and have been using Nikon's for the last few years. I purchased this Nikon 50mm fixed lens a while ago to use on my Nikon d5200 and was not a fan because of how tight it was indoors - http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-AF-S-NIKKOR-Focus-Cameras/dp/B004Y1AYAC/ref=sr_1_3?s=photo&ie=UTF8&qid=1463082443&sr=1-3&keywords=nikon+50mm

Would I experience the same with the Sony 35mm or will it be wider than the above lens?

I got this rode mic and I've liked it! It takes a battery, which is supposed to give it more range. I've not compared to head-to-head with anything else, but there are a crap ton of youtube vids that do just that if you want to compare!
