Sorry you're having anxiety problems - that shit sucks. Having cheap pregnancy tests on hand can help ease your mind when these things come up. They arrive in an inconspicuous package, and you wouldn't have to worry about going into a store or whatever is available on campus.
Long cycles occasionally happen. Sometimes stress can delay ovulation, but having the occasional long cycle isn't unheard of. If your period is actually 3 days late, taking a home pregnancy test should be accurate. If you haven't had any kind of sexual activity since March, and have had fairly normal periods since then, you are probably not pregnant. If you are 7 months pregnant, a HPT will also give accurate results. Sugar, toothpaste, anything else really won't help determine if you're pregnant. It is very important that you find out if you are pregnant or not - if you are, you'll need to know what your options are/get prenatal care. But again, I do not think it is likely you are pregnant.
You haven't mentioned if you have been using any forms of birth control. If you're a sexually active person, which it sounds like you are, figuring out some methods can go a long way in easing your anxiety. Most apps are not great at predicting when you're fertile, and so please don't rely on an app alone for protection. Babies are not the only thing you can catch, either - I would suggest having condoms on hand to help contain semen.
These are the most accurate tests: https://www.amazon.co.uk/First-Response-Early-Result-Pregnancy/dp/B001DULLKE. They are super sensitive and the level of hcg needed to make it positive is a lot smaller than the level for other tests, so a positive will show up earlier than in other tests. So by tomorrow, if you were pregnant, you’d see a faint line. If you can’t take the test with first morning urine, then just hold your pee for a couple hours before the test and that will have the same effect as first morning urine.
I think it's totally fine that she does not want to get on birth control, but she needs to do something different because having this level of irrational anxiety every month is just not sustainable. My suggestion is to buy her a copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility. You can read it together. It will educate her (and you) about how ovulation, pregnancy, cycles, and all that stuff works and maybe make her feel more in control. It teaches a method of fertility awareness that involves taking your temperature every day and paying attention to changes in her cervical fluid, and is very effective (my husband and I use it as birth control) - unlike period trackers, which are almost useless for determining fertile periods. But mostly it's just very educational, and I think she needs some information to make her feel more empowered instead of paranoid all the time, whether of not you want to use the method.
