Holy smokes I would have a very hard time trusting even the best mechanic in the world to put that all back together and not miss something electrical and potentially have to do it more than once, or screw it up entirely.

This type of thing might give you a 1 in 100 chance if it's a really small leak in the core or a seal somewhere, but then you have to put more refrigerant in it which might just leak right out again - and then you are just burning money and helping melt more polar ice.

I'd probably save the money there, forget it entirely and roll the windows down, and live with it. A beaded seat cover helps with air flow behind you. Carry a spare t shirt with you and a wash towel for when you get to work or whatever?

as u/Hamburgertime604 suggested, the only long term solution is an ozone generator. They're pretty cheap on Amazon and, for what you'd spend constantly trying different air fresheners and enzyme cleaners, you'll save money.

Read all cautions though, as Ozone is dangerous.

Use one of the JACO tire inflators. They make awesome gauges and inflators and I can't speak highly enough about them. I personally use the SmartPro 2.0 Inflator, but you can also get the original SmartPro which is similar except it only runs on DC power (car cigarette socket) while the other model utilizes car power and regular home/garage AC outlet power.
