Nice, a sleek black and white aesthetic. Nothing is out of place here. Glad you went with a mouse mat with a small logo.

I don't have any suggestions really since it's all but perfect. I can offer a potential upgrade or two if you have money that needs spending!

A headphone stand has already been mentioned but the style of headphone stand that you decide to go with is also a consideration. You can get ones that stand on your desk. These are good if you want the headphones to be a point of attention on the desk. They are nice-looking Grados so might be a good idea.

If you want headphones on your desk but not to take up any space then you can get ones that attach to the edge like this or to the underside of the desk like this.

If you don't want them to be anywhere near the desk then you can find wall mounted ones or something you can stick to the side of a desk leg if it's wide enough à la this.

If you want a better quality LED bulb for your lamp (because it is a nice lamp!) then it might be worth investing into some high CRI (90+, ideally ~95-97) LED bulbs. They can be expensive but they are very nice. Make sure that you double-check the base type of the bulb already in the lamp before you buy. Yuji LED sell what are probably the best LED bulbs you can buy right now. You can also choose between colour temperature. If you only use the lamp during the evening then go for the 3000K option for a warmer colour.

For a future and more expensive investment (that could also become a hobby), you should look into buying or building a custom mechanical keyboard. Your setup would love it! Check out /r/MechanicalKeyboards if you're interested.

Hope this helps!

Miles.

It's amazing how big a difference frames can make.

I assume that the reason you moved the tower to face that away is so that you can see the glass window? Totally get that. Moved my set up all around because I wanted to enjoy looking at it. But maybe you could move it to the same position you had in the first photos but maybe further to the left of your desk? Basically switching it with the PS4's location. I think that will help hide some of those cables and give the desk a cleaner look.

Or if you really have your heart set on that tower positioning, I think some velcro straps would be a great start and compressing the cables. Or something like these could help get cables off the floor and under the desk and help run them in a tidier fashion.

You've definitely been making some improvements! Keep up the great work!

I have a Blue Yeti Blackout on a microphone arm (cheapy $20 version like this one (https://www.amazon.com/NEEWER-Microphone-Suspension-Scissor-Stand/dp/B00DY1F2CS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491413327&sr=8-1&keywords=blue+yeti+mic+stand) but without the black adapter at the end of it, and it has worked beautifully for the last three years, I can even invert my microphone to where it's hanging upside-down over my monitors and it's still steady as a rock. The arm can extend for about two and a half to three feet in every direction and is very easily adjustable.

I would definitely recommend checking to make sure whatever arm you buy is compatible with the microphone though, as some aren't. There's plenty of cheap versions on Amazon that can clip to your desk and easily support the weight of the microphone.

It's cleared up a lot of my desk space, made it easier to cable manage and use my microphone, and you don't get any of the infamous desk vibrations coming through your mic that the Blue Yeti is so well-known for.

TL:DR; A cheap Blue-yeti compatible mic stand can be found on Amazon, and it's a much better recording experience on a mic stand than on the desk stand that comes with the Blue Yeti.

It's all about personal preference as to what you want to use, but I used Velcro cable ties, cable sleeves, and sticky cable clamps for both my battlestation and my TV/console station. I bought these in particular and they do just the trick for me at very low cost.

Ties: VELCRO Brand ONE WRAP Thin Ties | Strong & Reusable | Perfect for Fastening Wires & Organizing Cords | Black, 8 x 1/2-Inch | 100 Count https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001E1Y5O6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_l3bJBbHE1JZZS

Sleeves: 20" Cable Management Sleeve with Free Zip Ties https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MR6QQLR/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Clamps: eBoot Adjustable Cable Clips Adhesive Nylon Wire Clamps, Black, 50 Pack https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01LYO307S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_J3bJBbRA9GWRQ

Stick some clamps behind your desk and down the edges of the desk legs to run the wires and cords along them. Just be warned that the residue may stick and might peel off paint or wood, so take caution if you want to tear them off. I'm sure you can find better ones that don't potentially damage your desk, but with proper removal care, you should be fine.

I like the velcro straps because they can easily be adjusted, removed, and reused. They're also versatile for any other random cables you want to store.

Haha thank you! This was actually my first time doing a dual monitor set up too so I was pretty nervous about choosing a stand.

VIVO Dual LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand Heavy Duty Fully Adjustable fits 2 /Two Screens up to 27" (STAND-V002) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B009S750LA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_.EBEDbBJAJY0J

This think is great and super easy to set up. It’s a little tight at first and takes some fidgeting but it feels secure. I was also worried about the clamp and the desk combo but it worked out I just had to finesse it a bit.

All in all I’m super happy with it and would probably buy the table again. Also it’s super easy to take apart to move locations if you have to

Hey, thats my shop! Glad to see you put your shadow boxes to good use! Your setup looks great and is surprisingly similar to mine (I love that monitor, but I had to return mine a few times to get one without backlight bleed). Maybe I'll post my station later in the week.

About the cables, I don't know if your desk is too thick, but I bought some of those black binder clips from office supply stores and clamped them to the back of my desk, and then I ran wires through them and secured them with velcro straps. Even if that doesn't work, these velcro straps are awesome for bundling wires: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001E1Y5O6

Thanks to everyone else for your interest in my shadow boxes, I'll be working hard to get your orders out and I'll have some new NES scenes up soon as well. Check back this week!

u/alanpsk · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I'm going to suggest a few things because your setup has a lot of potentials. First, mount that CRG9. That behemoth is a great monitor but the stand just takes up too much space, once you mount it, it will give you an unbelievable amount of desk space. Second, drill a hole and route your mouse and keyboard cord thru it. Also, get something like this to hang your headset underneath the table. Last but not least, put some pictures or your collection or what not onto the wall to make it more personal. Afterward, your setup will look much better and super clean. Hope that helps.

I first went with this one from amazon https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009S750LA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 but I ended up returning it due to the connector for one of the arms not supporting the weight of my monitor (possibly faulty but also read this has happened before to other people).

The next one I got, which is the one in the pic is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QR48YLB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

It works awesome. Gas spring monitor mount. Holds a 27in curved and 24 in in portrait perfectly fine. Super easy to adjust and manipulate to the position you want it in and has held up over the past 2 months.

Now one problem I ran into is the connecting point from the VESA adapter on my curved monitor can tilt left and right WITHIN the bracket that holds the monitor from the arm. So it seeds perfectly and is secured within the clip (hard to describe but ultimately the monitor wont fall) it just doesn't fit 100% snug, so you get a 3 cm tilt left or right. Its in no way a problem holding the monitor its moreso an annoyance. The monitor centers perfectly and stays there, you just have to re-position it once a week it seems.

u/MentalToast · 5 pointsr/battlestations

Absolutely no prob :)

My mom reviews electronics for a living so we end up getting tons of new devices really often and generally need to find cables to match so things are being switched out and added in all the time. To make it more convenient instead of having to go sort through a box or into a drawer and untangle cables I wanted something super easy access to so that if i needed an hdmi , bam, I had one. Same with the others.

For the controllers I used Stick-On Game Controller Hooks 2 Pack. The snes and nes usb controllers are simply hung via a tack.

I got a simple ~$10 corkboard from walmart, used a label maker for the labels and then used CraZy TACKz 36tacks to hang the cables. I wouldn't recommend them though, a standard tack works better honestly ( In theory a hook is great but they loosen and then swing around making it a pain to re-orient them when you're taking things on and off frequently.)

The headphones under the desk is The Anchor Great adhesive, super cheap and can orient it vertically or horizontally which lets you fit two pair ( in my case one for skype/discord+gaming and the other for general use since it has better quality but no mic)

---
For anyone else curious about the other pieces of the set up:

the desk is Series A:72inch Desk by Bush Business Furinture.

The lights are EconoLed RGB 5M 3528 LED Strip Light 300leds

Mousepad is Reflex Lab Huge Gaming Mouse Pad

The headphones are :
SteelSeries Arctis 5
and Audio-Technica ATH-A900X

Monitors are : ASUS VN279QL and Dell U3417W FR3PK

Keyboard is : Razer BlackWidow X Tournament Edition Chroma

Mouse is : Razer Naga Hex v2

u/dstaller · 1 pointr/battlestations

Some of them have adjustable pieces for each monitor to fine tune height. I have one that attached to the desk rather than sit on the table, but it definitely does.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006JG7G2E/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have this one. It's working pretty good so far and I've had it for a month. The only downside is that you don't really have much freedom in the angle of the monitors due to the solid bar. Makes it much easier getting them even though and the bar makes it really easy to mount an LED strip across it.

I got kicked out of /r/CableManagement even tho some people liked it there. Original Post

Even though I buy and build PC's for a living, I don't have a fancy water cooled setup at home. But this is my desk, it gets the job done. I recently cleaned up all the cables so thought some people would enjoy that. I could have hid the power cable but I don't like tying those up.

https://imgur.com/a/IXAG72q

Ready for the cool part? This is an Ikea desk, firs thing I did was threw out all the hardware and used velcro to fasten the legs to the desk. Zero issues for 6+ months. The parts from Ikea I used were:

https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/50106773/ ($100) https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90252908/ ($119)

I used zip ties + velcro ties to fasten the cables and a small speaker under the desk.

The monitor arm I use is good old Vivo from Amazon for $29..I've been using these for probably 4-5 years, and have purchased about a dozen of them.

https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Screens-STAND-V002/dp/B009S750LA

This is the speaker that is zipped under the desk:

https://www.amazon.com/Anker-SoundCore-Bluetooth-Dual-Driver-Distortion/dp/B016XTADG2 ($29)

The PC is self-built. Its a generic Mini ATX case, 6th gen i7, 16GB of Corsair 2400, a 128 Patriot SSD and a 2TB HDD, it also has an EVGA 1070 video card which is really overkill for what I do.

Last cool part - the case is equipped with a 5.25" "drawer" in place of DVD drive. Perfect for spare USB drives, a few pens, etc to keep the desk clean.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AVSSKOE/ ($10)

This is my desk. I'm not really done with it yet, but since this was illicitly posted here and deleted I might as well make an "official" post.

Desk: Bestar Connexion U-Shaped Workstation
Monitors: ASUS VN279Q 27-Inch x 6
Mounts: Vivo Dual LCD Monitor Desk Stand
Video Card: VisionTek Products 7750 Eye 6 (with a more powerful card driving the center display)
Chair: A ball. Deal with it.

There's a tower under the desk driving all this, but it's a few years old. A Core i7 2600k with a 16GB of RAM and 4 90GB SSDs in a raid 0. The center monitor is hooked up to a GTX 570, which is probably next up to be upgraded.

Like I said, I still have a lot of work to do (especially for cable managment) but I'm really happy with how my power solution is coming along. Plugging in this many monitors along with all the other stuff on my desk is always a mess, but CyberPower makes a 10 outlet rackmount power strip, which is a really nice solution. Those are the bottom two things in the rack. The whole rack will be mounted to the underside of the desk soon, and I'll get a net or something to keep the wires off the floor and go crazy with zip ties.

I'm not totally happy with the stands, which are pretty bulky, but I couldn't find a lot of options for six 27-inch monitors. Ideally it would be some kind of single foot "tree" style stand, but all the 6 monitor ones I could find didn't support 27 inchers.

This thing is mostly used for work. I write for Ars Technica.

Would you be so kind to upload an image of the end of the wire on the light strips ? I would like to get one of these but as they are meant for a car i would like to know ahead how im going to plug it into an home electric plug. Thanks !

Edit: Nevermind, looks like i found the perfect kit :) http://www.amazon.com/Ledwholesalers-Changing-Flexible-Yourself-Controller/dp/B0040FJ27S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1347685408&sr=8-1&keywords=led+light+strip

u/HollowImage · 1 pointr/battlestations

I used Vivo! monitor stands. Its actually a mix-match of several.

The left two are supported by this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009S750LA

the right two are supported by a combination of:

  1. pole from 1x http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FPTHAOA
  2. arms from 2x http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B21TLQU

Because Vivo doesnt make Tall pole with arms. I can understand, they are worrying about the structural integruity if someone tries to arm up 3 monitors on one pole, and I will be honest the torque that my top monitor is putting on that pole is quite a bit, it definitely bent out a few degrees from the strain; however given how relatively light these monitors are (27" qnix, very litle plastic and a thin led panel) and the very high quality of the pole+arm mounts (I VERY MUCH RECOMMEND the mounts by the way) I am not worried a lot -- but I will be keeping an eye on it.

Oh and yeah, the "perfectly organized" comment. I so agree. It actually irks me when people put up a picture of a setup so clean, its like they put it together just to show off. Like thsoe people who fill their shelves with books they never once cracked open but are considered classics so they want to show it off. I work here, I game here, its a big part of my life and its not perfect, but its damn efficient and it has everything that I need.
u/ThatActuallyGuy · 3 pointsr/battlestations

While this might be better suited in /r/AskBattlestations/ I'd suggest a corner desk. People around here [myself included] have a strong affection for Ikea desks, especially the build-a-desk system. While it can get pricey, it makes getting your perfect desk incredibly easy.

If you don't get a glass top, then you might also want to consider a dual monitor mount to get back some extra desk space. you can find them pretty easily on Amazon and the like, but I've had good experiences with this one.

You also might want to get wall hangers for your instruments, it'll simultaneously free up floor space and get some personality on those walls. Just a thought.

Gotcha, dual monitors (or triple monitors) are always nice. I have a GTX 660 Ti and Im thinking of upgrading to a GTX 970 over the summer. I personally recommend using the same brand of GPU as you do for your Mobo. I have an MSI Mobo and Im going to make sure I get an MSI GTX 970. Not sure that it really matters but its just my preference. If you want to go with something black that works there is a 7 Port Amazon Basics USB Hub (http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-Port-USB-power-adapter/dp/B00DQFGJR4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419539487&sr=8-1&keywords=amazon+basics+7+port+usb+hub). Its big enough that it won't get pulled around while cords are plugged in but should still be small enough to hide behind the monitor or desktop. I'd recommend looking into a Dual Monitor Desk Mount once you have the two 27" monitors, they look really good and let you raise your monitors more to eye level which is better ergonomically. I use a Dual Monitor Desk Mount and this is what my set up looks like: http://i.imgur.com/zguLVDi.jpg The mount I bought is this one in case you want to look into it: http://www.amazon.com/Monitor-Mount-Stand-Adjustable-Screens/dp/B009S750LA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1419539777&sr=8-1&keywords=dual+monitor+mount

Monitor Mounts- 10/10

u/dion297 · 1 pointr/battlestations

Hi OP I have a few questions (maybe more than a few...)

So I'm looking to upgrade in the monitor game. I was actually eyeing the same exact monitor that you have (Acer 3440x1400 UQWHD) but wasn't able to make a decision. How is the monitor? Would you recommend it? The refresh rate is what makes me hesitant. I wanted to bump up to 144Hz but I understand this monitor is capped at 60Hz.

Secondly, I was looking (same as you) to mount the monitor I have right now above the new monitor I get (whichever it ends up being). How does it feel? Is it comfortable to look at as opposed to the normal side by side setup?

Finally, what exactly did you use to mount your monitors? I was eyeing this guy. Any tips?

Thanks in advance!

(btw I'd love to see you do a full blown build if this is only a budget station)

Found this on Amazon and figured I'd try it out. I was very satisfied. I just routed them around the back of the monitors and kept them up with scotch tape and its holding perfectly. The remote is great and has a lot of options. Most of them are useless in this type of setup unless you want to show it off, throwing random colors against the wall. Generally I just have a blue-white color and leave it as that, but you can change brightness and bring up the RGB values to your preference and save your favorite settings which keeps after unplugging.

In any case, I have absolutely no complaints about this set and highly recommend it. Maybe my only complaint would be that it has this fade setting that goes between seven colors, I wish I could have it fade between my DIY colors.

Both the 2012 Minis and the 2010 Mini are completely headless. Unfortunately, this means that accessing them via remote desktop gives you a measly 800x600 resolution. I use this handy little gadget on both of them to replicate a 1920x1080 display being connected. So, when I connect via Screen Sharing I get a nice big display.

It's well worth it. I feel like 2 1080s is the sweet spot for me. Any less and I'm cramped, any more and I'm just running unnecessary shit simply because there's another screen over there.

If you go that route, I'd recommend snagging one of these as well. Super cheap, super tough, and it's relatively painless to adjust the orientation of displays on-the-fly. Coupled with some hotkeys you can switch between any combo of portrait/landscape in just a few seconds.

u/carb0nxl · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Thank you kindly!
It's not actually a triple monitor stand. Only the side monitors are on desk clamp mounts and the middle one is too heavy for the cheap mounts I'm using.

This is what I'm currently using.

However, I've already seen this particular mount in person and I really do want to invest in this for the future when I can afford it. It was amazing how well it articulates and holds its position (it's on gas springs) despite my friend using a heavy monitor on it.

But yeah if you're on a budget like I originally was, the $15 mounts will suit you well (within reason).

u/xs0crates · 2 pointsr/battlestations

If you're looking for one right now, i can really recommend the Rode PSA1 mount! I use it a lot, and i'm pretty sure it works with the Snowball!

Good luck :)

u/jinyang1590 · 3 pointsr/battlestations

Asus VN247H-P, they aren't the best due to the TN panels, but they are a nice size and offer 1ms response time, not to mention the super thin bezels. http://www.amazon.com/VN247H-P-23-6-Inch-Screen-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B00AVYNS7M/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1421795264&sr=8-1&keywords=asus+vn247h-p&pebp=1421795266522&peasin=B00AVYNS7M

And the mount is http://www.amazon.com/Deluxe-Monitor-Desktop-Supports-002-0019/dp/B006JG7G2E/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1421795361&sr=8-5&keywords=triple+monitor+mount

The mount is great and very sturdy and allows for micro adjustments so you can have all the monitors at the right height (I have to adjust my left monitor as evidenced in the pictures)

u/Dzimm666 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Thanks! I'm very happy with how they are working out great how ever I would recommend not getting the 4" ones if you a shorter person. I'm 6'4" and it is border line to tall for me lol unless you don't mind you legs hanging.

I was curious about the microphone arm as well, as I bought a super cheap one and OPs looked like a great step up. Looks like it's a RODE PSA1. $100..bit more than a step from where I am.

u/Boryce · 1 pointr/battlestations

If you wanted to free some desk space, you could try monitor arms (if your monitors are capable of this, some lack the holes on the back to screw onto the arms). A single arm for either or both monitors or a double arm mount for the two. I have one of these supporting 2 24" monitors and it works lovely. Very stable and the space of 2 of the bases freed.

u/M_A_Draco · 1 pointr/battlestations

Just undid five years worth of accumulated mess. Saw the beautiful workstations on this channel, and just couldn't take the cognitive dissonance anymore.

Installed a raceway and new power strips under the desk. The project took about four hours or so.

This channel had tons of great product and technique suggestions, and this YouTube video was also extremely helpful: https://youtu.be/Uc01oUqmxhE

Here's what I ended up using:

u/redsolocup · 5 pointsr/battlestations

I think your best bet is to get a monitor stand that swivels along with any nicely specced monitor with VESA mounting. You can get 24" monitors at 1920x1080 and a LED backlight for around $170 if you shop around.

You need to get a stand that rotates..

If you want a dual monitor setup you might want this and maybe get 22" monitors to save some money.

Of course these are just suggestions and I'm sure with some compromise and shopping you can easily keep it between $180-$200.

u/Callamanda · 3 pointsr/battlestations

Looking good, but I have two inexpensive suggestions: get this for a PC stand and get this for your headphones

I just received the glass stand and I like it a lot, used it to raise up my monitor and free up space for my keyboard and my backup HDD. It'd fit/look a whole lot better than that silly AC retail box ;)

u/KARMAgetsYA · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Sure thing!

I had to make a custom wood piece to get around a metal bar under the table, and disperse the clamping force from the 2 screws. Since this is a glass table i did not want to clamp directly to the glass. Just some particle board and screws. For the cabling, i utilized the built in wire supports on the mount arms, and black zip ties. Kind of a rats nest underneath the table, but i tried to clean it up as best i could compared to how it was before.

My monitor mount is something like the - supplied by my work so not sure the exact product.

u/baitboy3191 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

VIVO dual lcd monitor desk mount: here is the link if your interested. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009S750LA/ref=oh_details_o01_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

great price and superb build quality and its super adjustable.

u/cphcider · 1 pointr/battlestations

Those monitors don't look identical, but you MAY be able to flip all 3 vertical and create a DIY ultrawide situation. That would give you more horizontal desk space so the TV isn't so crowded.

This one has arms you can adjust, but only horizontally (and tilt), you couldn't change any heights.

Same story with this one, but arguably easier to ensure things are more aligned. (This is what I use for 2 monitors that aren't identical and it works well enough.)

This one would let you play with heights, but is 2x the price of the others for that reason.

This was me playing with the idea of 2 horizontal and 1 vertical.

u/Pomerilly · 3 pointsr/battlestations

The one I'm using is this mount.

If you have the money for it, the best quality gas spring mounts (dual monitors that can be stacked vertically) are from Ergotron or Loctek. They're great for moving the monitors around - the one I have is somewhat limited.

Alternatively, the one by Vivo is quite good, especially for the low price. It's definitely better than the one I'm using, especially if you don't plan on moving the monitors.

u/KeyserSOhItsTaken · 1 pointr/battlestations

Honestly looks great. I think the only thing that could be done better is cable management. Buy some of these and bundle the cables coming off the back of the tower. Small hole under your mouse pad to route the kb/m cables under the desk. Put a small hole behind the shelf to route those power cables from behind the desk. Honestly I feel like I'm just nitpicking because this looks great.

u/TheDapperMob · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Here is the stand. I completely recommend it if you're in the market for one! Only $45, easy to install, looks nice, and completely stable. This is the chair. It's good for kicking back. I do have an upright office chair as well when I need to get serious.

u/SubParPercussionist · 3 pointsr/battlestations

Hey! Not op but there's a couple ways you can go about doing this. 1 and probably the easiest is to buy a monitor that can just flip outright. I personally found one on Craigslist for like 30 bucks. 2 and the cheapest way if you have high dollar monitors is to grab a mount from somewhere. Something like this https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Articulating-STAND-V001/dp/B00B21TLQU/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1543568103&sr=8-6&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=monitor+mount&dpPl=1&dpID=31qDzCQi0%2BL&ref=plSrch. Hope that helps!

u/jdm135 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Yes. They are custom ikea monitor stands. They are great value if you can pick up the parts, $10 for shipping makes it little less great haha.

I'm using this 150 LED RGB Light setup.

u/lt7991 · 2 pointsr/battlestations

You dont wont to be cranking your neck upwards while using your computer. You want to be looking slightly downwards.

I would personally recomend getting an arm to attach both of your monitors to. This will free up a bit of space and you will be able to use the desk under the monitors without their stands getting in the way which is nice. Something like this:: https://www.amazon.com/Monitor-Stand-clamp-24-Inch-monitors/dp/B002R9HQLI

(Shop around for yourself for prices)

Also, Id consider putting your PC tower on the floor. Thats by far the biggest thing you can do to open up space. If you have carpet, buy a cheap plastic mat or simply put textbooks under the tower and it wont suck up dust.

I personally put my tower on the ground and now my table/desk feels like a legitimate workspace. Ive done a lot of electronics projects since freeing the space up.

his: VIVO Dual LCD Monitor Desk Mount / Stand Black Deluxe Gas Spring and Dual USB 3.0 Ports / holds 2 Screens up to 27" (STAND-V002DU) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01771CJ1M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MkHzzbKVV1WWQ

I bought mine a couple years ago and just kept it because it did what I needed to do without breaking the bank. They're honestly both really good mounts depending on what you're looking for.

I hope I helped!

I ordered these reusable Velcro ties on Amazon.

They are great because you get 100 of them for cheap and they allow you to easily correct mistakes or add new cables. Also, they don't strangle and damage your wires like zip ties do, and removing them does not require cutters... Ya know, since they're Velcro. You can even string them together to make large loops that can hold your cables against your desk's legs.

Here is a pic of them in action.

I hope that helps!

u/Saorigameover · 1 pointr/battlestations

Oh! Haha I was talking about the vault boy bobble head :P but I actually got the desk from amazon! [Here] ( http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001FB5LE8?pc_redir=1395433866&robot_redir=1), super easy to set up too. I'm in the US.

u/stillUnproductive · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I find stacking works with better with an ultra wide setup. I have a 34um95 and found anything to the left or right was too far outside my peripheral vision to use for watching movies and playing games at the same time. I stacked a cheap 27inch 16:9 tilted down on top of the 34 inch using this mount: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B00DGU92DM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00

It has gone up in a price a little since I bought it but there is also a cheaper version that lets you mount the stand directly to the desk with out drilling holes in it here: http://www.amazon.ca/Monitor-Stacked-Vertical-Screens-VIVO/dp/B00DGTP57A/ref=pd_cp_ce_1

I haven't posted it yet because the room is being renovated but here is a phone pic from when I first set it up: http://i.imgur.com/uocoR8h.jpg

It works great for me. I hope this helps.

It's basic, but it's still a solid setup to be honest. My one suggestion would be to move the two monitors together somehow so that you can see them at the same time. Since fitting both monitors on your desk might make things a bit cramped, maybe invest in a dual monitor arm? This is the one I use, and it would probably work for you pretty well.

u/giggly_kisses · 4 pointsr/battlestations

Here are the parts I used:

  • cable raceway
  • cable clips
  • indoor mounting squares
  • velcro cable ties

The cable raceway and the cable clips made the biggest difference. In the past I would just use the velcro strips, which would help with making the cables look more clean, but not with hiding them altogether.

    The process I used was:

  • unplug everything from your computer and lay them over your desk in straight lines so you can see all the cables you'll need to route.
  • find a good spot for the raceway leaving enough room for a power strip to sit behind it. I had to cut the raceway to fit my desk. Once it's sized correctly, stick it to the bottom of your desk.
  • Route a single wire at a time. I started with the wires coming from my monitor first since they were the furthest away from my tower. I also did the power cables last since they were the biggest and weren't being routed to the tower.
  • Once everything is routed in the raceway then start using the cable clips to make sure the cables follow the path cleanly.
  • Use the velcro strips to keep hanging wires together.

I used to use my Surface Pro 4 for work but decided to sell it to help save up for a future battlestation. Had my company fund a custom PC for me to build and use for work instead.

Monitor Mount is this

u/TheNavajoBro · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Looks nice, I really need to get some LED strips for myself. However, you could always clean it up a bit by using a clip-on dual monitor mount like this one on amazon. Gives ya some space under the monitors and helps with the cable clutter with the clips it comes with. Should look pretty primo after that I'd say

u/iiTechnicolor · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Snag one of these: https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Monitor-Adjustable-Articulating-STAND-V001/dp/B00B21TLQU/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1522703936&sr=8-4&keywords=vivo+monitor+stand

I've had quite a few mounts from that company. Great quality and next to nothing for how amazing they are. It will help to clean up the desk a bit! Looks great so far!

  1. Ikea: LINNMON / ALEX Table, white/gray -

  2. Edifier W855BT Bluetooth Headphones - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N4TZEEB/; for my bus rides to and from work.

  3. HyperX Cloud Stinger Gaming Headset - https://smile.amazon.com/HyperX-Cloud-Stinger-Gaming-Headset/dp/B01L2ZRYVE; this headset is connected to my computer, for gaming or if I just feel like using these instead of the speakers I will mention again sometime in the future.

  4. The Anchor - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00P31BMHG/; this headphone mount sticks under the Ikea table I had mentioned earlier. Once mounted, I rest my two headphones on to them. When not in use, of course.

  5. Generic, black folding TV Tray - from Fancy Red Walmart; I use this tray to hold phone, drinks, or whatever else I'd like it to hold.

  6. Green bowl with spoon-shaped silverware, with a folder paper towel undereath - this was gifited to me, thanks Auntie!; before this photo was taken, this bowl was used to house Cocoa Pebbles and Whole Milk. It no longer houses said things, as they are now digesting in my vessel.

  7. Pint glass - from Frederick Meyer; this pint glass was most recently used to hold drinking water poured from my Britta pitcher, with water that comes from my kitchen sink.

  11. Cooler Master MasterKeys Pro L - https://smile.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-MasterKeys-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B01ITE93OM; this is my keyboard. It has fancy white LEDs that light up when you press down on whatever key you press down on. It also has Cherry MX Browns.

  12. Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller - this is the controller I use when I want to use a controller for gaming

  13. Logitech G400 Optical Gaming Mouse - https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Optical-Gaming-Mouse-910-002277/dp/B0055QZ216; my second-favorite mouse - with my first being the Logitech MX518. I love the shape of these mouses.

  14. Generic mouse pad I got off of Amazon. My mouse doesn't work without it.

  15. Bluetooth speaker that I use to connect to my phone and bring to the bathroom with me when I take a shower.

  16. CORSAIR CARBIDE 275R Mid-Tower Gaming Case - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B079K1W3KB/; inside this case is my computer. What's inside the case doesn't matter for this post, as this is about my battlestation, not my computer.

  17. A Bounty paper towel roll. The Quicker Picker Upper.

  18. Talking Dalek Bank - https://smile.amazon.com/Underground-Toys-Doctor-Talking-Dalek/dp/B009Y7F744; this Dalek holds my change, while giving me threatening threats.

  19. A penguin.

  20. A flashlight. I use this when I take my dog out for walks and it is dark out. Because I don't have night vision.

  21. Below the flashlight is a container that once held M&M's. The lid of the container is shaped like the blue M&M named Blue's face. The container is currently empty.

  22. A lunch box that looks like a TARDIS - https://smile.amazon.com/Doctor-Who-TARDIS-Tote-Gift/dp/B0093DJ7LS; I don't actually use this for lunch. I use it to hold random things. Yes, it's bigger on the inside.

  23. ASUS VZ27AQ Monitor - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B071HMSZ4S/; this is a 27-inch monitor that outputs video at a resolution of 2560x1140.

I used Vivo's dual monitor mount. It's cheap and super easy to install! I moved one link from the right arm to the left to better support the main monitor.

u/genesiswestcoast · 3 pointsr/battlestations

It's the Amazon Basics Arm! I had such a hard time doing research cause the mounts I found were too strong or not strong enough and the Amazon Basics arm does the job PERFECTLY! Tension adjustments for height and tilt are amazing and smooth. Here is a link to the exact one:

Thanks! It's this one: https://amzn.com/B01CUW5HDU

It's really, incredibly well made for the 35 I paid for it (I think it fluctuates in price from time to time,) however if you're hoping that your top monitor will hang way over the bottom one, it won't quite work. Because it doesn't have articulated arms behind them, you kinda have to angle your bottom screen up and your top screen down if you don't want a gap. I ended up finding a sweet spot, but it would be nice if the top monitor had an arm to lean it farther over.

This is the stand. It mounts to the table and has articulating arms and cable clips. It's pretty awesome and I'm very happy with it.

u/JaylewAF11 · 1 pointr/battlestations

You could definitely try that. The arms aren't quite long enough to reach the middle of the desk, but if you are okay with having a corner desk set up or at least having them off to one side. I've also seen people use something like this that doesn't require that much depth, I just don't think it looks quite as pretty.

I'm definitely happy with the way the mount turned out. I'll need to get some longer cables so I can tuck them under the desk, but otherwise, it's pretty nice.

u/STR0NKboi · 1 pointr/battlestations

Here are some tips that might help.

  1. Get some new desks, I own this one cause it's cheap in my area: Cool Ikea Desk
  2. Have better cable management. Not only does it make it look nicer, but it also makes it easier to know where each cable is connected... Amazon Zip ties
  3. Wall mount the Monitors, or desk mount. Cheap Amazon Desk mount
  4. Add some plants, pictures, and stuff to spice up the room. It looks very bland right now, so add a bit of colour. Some cheap Amazon plants

This is a nice change from the typical setup, especially having two monitors on top of each other. Thanks for the variety. That said, some simple cable management would clean up everything nicely and make finding stuff, unplugging things if anything goes wrong, and moving stuff around if needed much easier. I don't think you need to do much. Some simple velcro ties could do wonders for you and is probably all you need.

Alright questions, always happy to answer. I'm on my phone now so ill do my best, if you need more info feel free to PM me.

  1. It's been along time since I measured but I believe the room is 15x35. The last pic I was standing right outside my sliding door but the phone was inside so 35 feet

  2. Sound seems great all around, that's a stupid heater vent going across the ceiling, but worked out well to hide the projector which is about 14' away from the screen. I can either have the surround sound or tv speakers going but the receiver won't play to both at the same time. Surround speaker are directly to the left and right of the couch up by the rope lights.

  3. The covers are just crown molding and planks I painted black. Screwed 2x4s to the ceiling to attach the planks to then cover the screws in them with the molding. Lights http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0040FJ27S/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?qid=1420576918&sr=8-13&pi=AC_SX110_SY165_QL70 some have come doa FYI

  4. So far I've had no problems with the frames. I put Velcro tabs on the back to keep them from swinging plus it makes it way easier to take down and put back up without leveling, I just have to make sure the Velcro lines up. Super easy.

  5. The receiver has 4 or 5 hdmi inputs with 1 hdmi out, the hdmi out goes to a splitter that goes to the projector and tv. I use two different remotes but definitely need a universal. I bought the house before it was finished and the first thing I did when I moved in was tear down the ceiling to add 4 can lights power for the projector, screen, and rope lights. Also added 50' hdmi cable that is connected with wall outlets, one behind the popcorn machine and the other up by the projector, all cable in wall. Dvi to hdmi for PC to receiver and another 50' from splitter to tv but those 2 cables are under the trim on the floor. No noticeable lag except PC on the projector.

  6. Front speaker wire is going through the conduit until it reaches the trim on the floor, then it's under the trim. The surround sound speaker wire is under the trim then up the corner conduit then ran behind the molding with the lights. Conduits everybody, get them at home depot or lowes

  7. The screen is also on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Elite-Screens-125-Inch-Projector/dp/B000Q87LM6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1420586071&sr=8-3&keywords=power+projector+screens.

Just so you're aware this subreddit requires for you to have a Tower as stated in Rule 1 so this post would be more suitable and appreciated on /r/macsetups or /r/battletops. Also your setup is very nice overall and I like how you have you monitor aligned with your macbook, One thing that I would recommend would be some way of hanging your headphones such as a under desk headphone hanger such as this

u/EpicThotSmasher · 3 pointsr/battlestations

I have almost this same desk (check my post history). The capita legs at Ikea are 4inches tall which almost made my desk TOO high. Love it over all though. There are better ones which I wish I would have went with BLQZR legs on Amazon which I believe are 2-2.5inches which would have been better, although I don't know the build quality on those. The Ikea Capita legs are sturdy as hell.

EDIT: these are the legs I was talking about on amazon, they were the ones the YouTuber RandomFrankP used as well https://www.amazon.com/BQLZR-Stainless-Kitchen-Adjustable-Furniture/dp/B00KQH8HMU

The monitor isn't super special, kinda got it for free through a random gift card, but it's been pretty good.

u/navajofox · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Right, I have a mount for my widescreen but use the regular mount for the secondary. It's not terrible and still saved me tons of desk space.

Also, the mount that I have does have a hair of a lean to it after mounting the monitor on it. You may see it in the photo its slightly to the right. I believe if I add a block of wood like this guy it will reduce the lean.
either way I am happy with the mount and stock stand setup, but still looking for a mount for both. I probably will just give in and get two mounts.

u/giulianob · 1 pointr/battlestations

Lol it's one of these monitor arms. They are great because you don't lose all the desk space for your mugs :)

u/CraZee__ · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Thanks! Not a fan of the overly green setups, I like using it as a accent colour more than anything.

The mic stand I got a few years ago, and think they changed the design slightly now, but it was this Neewer that seems to be the current version of my stand they are selling. Its definitely nicer than having a tripod, keeps it off the desk. For the snowball though you have to change it slightly and take this part of the tripod stand off to use it but its simple enough to do.

My reasoning to go with the vertical mount was because I had the 22" from before and didn't want it to go to waste. Mount cost about $40 from Amazon, made by Vivo. Edit: many have asked about the mount, it's this one here. There's a shelf just a few inches below the top of the desk where I rest the stand.

Computer cost was around $900 for the case and parts, got some really great deals, some of which were bought on Craigslist, at Micro Center, and of course stalking r/buildapcsales. It's also a Hackintosh dual boot build, running 10.12.5 Sierra.
u/TJColeson · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Sorry should have included that originally. The mounts used for the ultrawide and tv are these: VIVO Single LCD Monitor Desk Mount Stand Fully Adjustable/Tilt/Articulating for 1 Screen up to 27" (STAND-V001) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B21TLQU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_uYx7Bb1TQDZR3

They make a short and tall version but I can't actually find the tall one at the moment on mobile. They're fantastic and are very clean looking.

The monitors are:
Main - LG 34UC88
TV - Samsung 32" (Old Model)
Drawing Monitor - Ugee 1910B

I'll try and post some PC specs later when I get home.

u/andCastles · 1 pointr/battlestations

You should consider getting a monitor mount, something like this. It would make everything even cleaner and give you the ability to adjust the height and position of your monitor. With or without it your setup looks great though.

you could put somethine like this, on top of the shelving unit and run the cables through it, will hide them pretty decent i think

This is the one I'm using. I'm pretty happy with it so far. It's quite flexible so you can move the monitors close together or however you want.

u/moldyshoe · 2 pointsr/battlestations

With this you can get away with one 34 inch ultrawide and one 17-19 inch monitor. Any larger than that then you might try this. Apparently you can use two 34 inch monitors with them just fine and it's what I plan on using in the future.

Another solution you can try is installing just one arm for your second monitor and aligning it with your primary or what have you. Good luck dude

u/wanze · 4 pointsr/battlestations

You really dont have to be rich to have something like this. It's three monitors. Pretty much anybody could afford it.

There's not even anything expensive in this picture. Is it the fact that they have 3 monitors on a mount?

Here's a Triple Monitor Mount Stand for $90 and two 24" 1080p Samsung monitors for $130 each.

There. $350 and now you'll also "look rich".

u/danesnick · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Dual monitor arm! Here's the one I have:
http://www.amazon.com/Mount--MI-752-Adjustable-Desktop-Monitors/dp/B0052AWGLE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453602291&sr=8-1&keywords=Mount+it+dual+monitor+arm

This is one of the more cheaper options. You have pretty good options on how you can mount it, and they're fairly solid in terms of build quality.

Just make sure your monitors are VESA compatible.

If you're starved on desk space with your multiple-monitor setup, it's definitely worth it.

u/Yomaster-OG · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I use this VIVO dual monitor desk mount from Amazon. I really like it. Very sturdy construction and good materials. I set it up once and forgot about it, which is what you hope for with these kinds of things, imo.

Of course! Those are BenQ RL2755HM mounted on this awesome dual arm stand

In retrospect I wish I had settled for 25" monitors with higher refresh rates and gsync. They would be more flexible in that setup and 27"x2 is just overkill.

Looking for a new monitor arm with hidden cable management

Hey,

I'm looking for a new monitor arm, specifically one that hides/manages cables really well.

Currently it's between the Jarvis Monitor Arm or the AmazonBasics Premium

Does anyone have experience with either of these or something possibly better? Doesn't have to be ergonomic as long as it hides cables really well. Also, black is preferred.

Thanks!

u/MisterKite · 2 pointsr/battlestations

haha, the picture you posted is the same exact desk I own, and I have mood lighting extremely similar to it.

Here is what i use

Not too expensive, and gives you a full range of color. The tape that is supposed to hold up the LEDs is pretty weak, but I use extra tape to hold it up and it works pretty well.

u/Arcendus · 2 pointsr/battlestations

I'd strongly recommend picking up either a wall mount or desk clamp mount for that monitor, as it makes a huge difference in the overall look, and you can pick them up pretty cheap. I use this one, myself.

That's the mount I use for the monitors. It's a BenQ 27" 144hz, and a pretty basic Asus 27". I really like it, nice for watching streams and movies/videos while doing something.

u/MmmmThatsTasty · 1 pointr/battlestations

Hmm interesting concept. I could probably achieve something similar via different means.

For me I used hockey tape (nice matte black fabric like tape) and taped my Razer Firefly wire to itself, and ran it and my mouse cable (with some slack for movement) under my keyboard, then taped all 3 together and ran it to the back of my desk under my sound bar so it "looks" like only a single large cable going to the back of the desk.

Underneath I have a surge protector and a usb hub stuck with double-sided 3M automotive adhesive (I use this stuff for everything). and then these in expensive adhesive J-channel cable race for wires.

I also got rid of my center support leg in exchange for a heavy duty shelf bracket.

u/GamerFenton · 1 pointr/battlestations

I responded to a similar comment earlier so I'll just copy/paste it here:

I have a power strip located on the underside of the desk that powers the PC, 3 monitors, and speakers. It is held in place by a cable management net that comes included with the Ikea Bekant desk.

I used a lot of velcro ties to group up any cables coming from a similar area. You can get a pack of 100 ties on Amazon for $10. Once they were grouped I kinda just threw them into the cable management net, there's probably a more elegant way of doing it, but I didn't want to spend even more time trying to do that 😅

Here are some pics of how I did it

I think what helps the most is having a cable management net on the underside of a desk.

u/kerta1n · 1 pointr/battlestations

#1. I know a lot have people have said this, but always, when showing off your battle station, have a uniform color (in your case, make the all of the RGB lights white). Also, if you want the setup to look extremely clean, remove all of your desktop icons and put the essentials either in your taskbar or your start menu. This will make it so it looks professional.
#2: Cable management is pretty clean, maybe try this, as this will help hide all of the cables under your desk, except for the PC, which I would pull out a bit more slack so some of the wire can be hidden behind the cabinets.
#3: (Optional) If your budget has some room, maybe get an (RGB) light strip behind your desk (or if you have one) as this will contribute more to the theme of your setup.

I like to use these: https://amzn.com/B001E1Y5O6

When they wind around the cable too many times, I just cut them. Makes it easier to re-tie them and they're cheap enough to experiment.

I really like the use of wall space. Would be cool to have some 3d printed hangers for the controllers!

u/emaceyated · 1 pointr/battlestations

The stand is a VIVO, fits up to 27 inch monitors. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01CUW5HDU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

As for the desk, I am not using anything to reinforce the desk, but I am planning on getting a single adjustable support beam for the middle. The desk has set up for like less than 2 weeks so sag wont be a problem by the time I get one. Probably just gonna go to home depot for that.

u/WhatPlantsCrave · 2 pointsr/battlestations

Consider a surge protector (what you have looks a lot like a power tap). There is a UL rating on the bottom that will tell you. If it's a power tap it probably has just a fuse, your equipment will still get fried.

That tape is going to leave sticky residue all over your cables and you are going to hate yourself for it in the future. Velcro is cheap. (Under $10 delivered for 100 8in strips.)

If the outside of your fan grilles are dusty like that it may be a good time to look at the cpu heat sink and make sure it is free of air clogging dust. Get that tower off the damn ground! Get some old phone books even, anything. 3" off the floor minimum.

u/Murdopolis · 5 pointsr/battlestations

Extended Single Stand - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IWOCCOW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I started with a double and worked my way up. All of the stands are essentially made by the same company and sold my different third parties.

They seem to work well.

http://instagram.com/p/roIDGeySTD/?modal=true here is a video showing how they are set up, thats also my bose sound system doing its thing ;). I put them around my window frame which is pretty big tbh. So they are pointed at the sides of my walls, the ceiling and the floor because they wrap all the way around. Im only using one strip of these. they have all kinds of color changing modes and shit, its amazing. I highly recommend this its definitely top quality.

The monitors you see here are ASUS VS238H-P 23" times 3. You have to buy separate monitors and also make sure the computer's graphics card can support either Nvidia Surround or AMD Eyefinity depending on what GPU you have. If you want its totally optional but you can buy a triple monitor stand like I did I used the EZM Deluxe Triple Monitor Mount Stand and it makes the setup look A LOT cleaner.

Get this one instead! And yes, it’s superb quality.

Headphone stand would be too crowded imho. You have limited desk space as is. Buy one of those undermounted or side mounted hooks and either put it under your desk on on the side of the cabinet. Either offers a cleaner look and still easy access.

Edit: something like this under the desk or like this on the side of the cabinet.

u/drawyourswordramza · 2 pointsr/battlestations

That height is correct. The KARLBY is 1 1/2" thick. So the top of the desk is 29". My old desk was 31 1/2" high so I was skeptical about loosing the few inches as well. But I can honestly say I much prefer the height of the IKEA build now that I'm used to it.

Also you can always use something to make it higher if you don't like it. I've seen a few IKEA builds use these to make increase the height. Here is a Reddit post where the person has these legs

Do yourself a favor and order something like this

Nice setup though.

The Rode PSA1 Swivel Mount Studio Microphone Boom Arm looks like it's honestly the only viable upgrade, to me, the rest of the scissor arm mic stands look like cheap Chinese clones of one another.

Hell yeah closet desks!! One of my bedrooms has a closet with two sliding doors so I measured the width of my closet and used the door as my desktop. It's been perfect. I have 3 of these for my monitors and they've held up pretty good over the last few years.

u/airjordanballa20 · 1 pointr/battlestations

Here is the link. It said it only holds up to 27 inch monitor but the reviews stated otherwise so I bought it and it works great!

You could wall mount the monitor underneath the shelf. Save some space on your desk to better position your keyboard and laptop.

I use this on my secondary monitor and it works fine

Most may remember my previous "RGB puke" battle station. Recently I've made some updates and wanted to see what you guys think. Below are the specs. Temperatures are sitting at 36C CPU and 35C GPU while idling. Playing Destiny 2 at Highest, temperatures go to about 40C for both CPU and GPU. Watercooling does work :D!

u/GinNJews · 1 pointr/battlestations

I used a lot of velcro strips and spiral wrap. I'd reccomend these over zip ties so when you upgrade cables or get new components you can reuse your straps. I still need to get one of those cable boxes to put my surge protector into though. If you end up getting a desk with an open back then these help out a lot too. It helps that I have a half backboard to help hide things.

Also, a mouse bungee would do you wonders. That, or loosely Velcroing your mouse wire to your keyboard wire so they stay uniform. Oh, and you'd probably benefit from a headphone stand. Last things that comes to mind are a vesa mount for your monitors, an extended mouse pad, some LED's behind your desk and monitor, and perhaps finding another place to put your PC. You can always extend cables.

Invest in dual monitor stand! It will clear up plenty of space! There are cheap ones on amazon that are nice

I don't think anything is holding it. I think it's just a velcro strap. they're amazing for cleaning up cables or making transportation easier.

since no one is giving suggestions on how to cable manage, ill help out.

use velcro straps to help run the cables along the posts going up the desk and entertainment center

https://www.amazon.com/VELCRO-Brand-Reusable-Fastening-Organizing/dp/B001E1Y5O6/ref=sr_1_8?crid=2CELM9CIVWUT3&keywords=velcro+straps&qid=1557866180&s=gateway&sprefix=velvro+str%2Caps%2C429&sr=8-8

use cable boxes for hiding power strips and excess cables

https://www.amazon.com/Management-Organizer-Storage-Holder-Computer/dp/B07PP113P2/ref=sr_1_12?keywords=cable+management+box&qid=1557866240&s=gateway&sr=8-12

if you dont want to use the boxes and have them sit on the floor, you could mount the power strip under your desk using 3m adhesive tape.

https://www.amazon.com/3M-VHB-5952-Automotive-Industrial/dp/B00MAQBPEM/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=3m+adhesive+tape&qid=1557866532&s=gateway&sr=8-5

use these raceways for routing cables up walls, and for the power strip cables that need to go from the wall plug to the power strip

https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Concealer-Wall-Cover-Raceway/dp/B01JKO8724/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=1VQ606JNF5W8J&keywords=cable+routing+sleeve&qid=1557866311&s=gateway&sprefix=cable+routin%2Caps%2C189&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1

and use these raceways to run the cables under the desk to your peripherals. cut them as needed to fit, or just make sure to leave gaps for the cables to leave the raceway and not sag
