Since you play on PS4 you can use one of these plugged into your controller.

http://www.amazon.com/Generic-23-3-5mm-Jack-Splitter/dp/B001E3ZM8M

Plug the headphones in one side and the mic in the other.

For microphones, any 3.5mm mic will work. I use one of these because the mic attaches to the headphones.

But you can use any mic that has a 3.5mm jack. The zalman clip on mic is pretty common.

This will get you pretty good audio, however if you want to step it up a notch you can buy an astro mixamp.

http://www.astrogaming.com/mixamp-tr/MixAmp-TR.html#start=1

That one works for PS4, PC, and is very popular. You would then plug your headphones and mic into the mixamp and not use the adapter linked at the top. This will also add in virtualized surround sound which is really good.

this is what everyone should be playing on. i will play slower paced or non competative games on my big tv but anything FPS and fast paced, has to be the monitor. that monitor specifically, picture is amazing and its so cheap. 24" is perfect.

just in case anyone is shoppnig around for a monitor. :)

Rl2455hm is one of the best bang for your buck.

I just picked up vg248qe and love it.

You can get Ghosts + the season pass in a steelbook for under $20. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EEMLMW0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

Picked it up last week and Extinction mode is definitely good fun.

I've heard the Logitech G930 is pretty good. It's a bit more than your $60 budget though, and I would definitely read the reviews about it (I've heard it has an issue with disconnecting sometimes). There's a wired version (The G35) that might be less prone to those issues.

I personally use the Wireless Gold from Sony though, haven't had much issue with it.

You should do whatever you can to get off of WiFi. If you can't run a long ethernet cable to your router then you might have better luck with something like this.

I didnt spend 300. I bought scuf extended domed sticks ($13) and scuf grips and trigger stops ($25) and installed them on my controller that came with the console. ($0). So $28 for a better preforming controller (In my mind at least). Debating on wether or not to get paddles for around $50 and installing them. $78 for a homemade Scuf is a lot better than 300 IMO.

edit: links added

Thanks for the info! Only $50 at Amazon. :)

u/DukeLeto2 · 1 pointr/blackops3

I just bought 2 sticks of that type of RAM for $31 dollars. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002N52ZO4/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Good luck! I have this same setup.

/edit: you may want to upgrade your power supply if the card can't get enough juice at high demand. Just a thought.

Here try this..... Much cheaper alternative and offers a lot of the perks of a scuf... If you would like to go even further with the controller, scuf does a package which I forgot the name that comes with back grip plates with adjustable trigger stops...
Hope this helps

Asus Monitor

This is the one my husband uses. It has a 1ms response time and great picture quality. It is also under $200.

u/JLSaun · 4 pointsr/blackops3

these are some reasonably priced solid headphones. Probably better than way more expensive Bose or Beats models.

u/DebitsOnTheLeft · 1 pointr/blackops3

Get these with a V-moda boom mic. It's a much better setup than using a gaming headset.

I upgraded from 8GB to 16GB ram back in January for BO3. It fixed a lot of the freezes and crashes. The RAM usage is just badly optimized for BO3. I got the Crucial Ballistix Sport for around 70 euros. Also try turning on Vsync and cap FPS to 60. If I don't have these options enabled even with a GTX 1080 the fps stutters up and down like a yoyo.

u/24dogpile24 · 1 pointr/blackops3

Then people will just buy this. People will always look for a way to game the system.

I get some laggy games but not every game.

  1. Firstly, if you're getting lag spikes, know that other people's issues are probably not the same as yours. They have different equipment, different service providers, different consoles/PCs, etc...

  2. Secondly, having an open Nat type doesn't change anything. That's a completely different issue and usually doesn't cause lag spikes. The only reason it would be an issue is if the port that BO3 uses gets used by another device and you get disconnected from the game.

  3. Thirdly, try to diagnose your problem using better methods.

Ideally, we would be able to use your consoles for this but for obvious reasons, we can't do that. We'll try to make do but for obvious reasons, this method might not be perfect.

Open two command prompts(Windows) or terminals(Mac). When you start experiencing lag spikes, try pinging your router and Google's DNS service.

On the first window, you're going to type this (Google):
    Mac:
    >ping 8.8.8.8

    PC:
    >ping 8.8.8.8 -t

On the second window, you're going to type this (Router):

    Mac:(without the brackets)
    >ping {Your router's IP address, eg: 192.168.1.1}

    PC: (without the brackets)
    >ping {Your router's IP address, eg: 192.168.1.1} -t

It should look something like this. After you've concluded your tests, you can press CTRL C to stop the ping tests.

Now this could tell us a few things. Your ping times to your router should be very close to 1ms. 3, 4, 5ms is fine but if it's above 10ms more than it's not, then your connection to your router is unstable. This could mean a crowded wifi connection. If you're using ethernet, try switching your cables and run the test again. If it's the same, then your router is at fault. Your ping times to Google DNS could vary BUT they should be consistent. If they're jumping between the from 10s to 100s to 1000s, then there is something wrong with your internet connection and you should speak to your provider.

If your wifi is at fault, there are various solutions we can try:

  4. Determine which wifi channels are crowded and switch to one that's not.

  5. Run an Ethernet cable from your router to your console/PC. I use a 10 meter cable from my router to my PS4, which works just fine. I just need to remember not to trip over it. lol

  6. User a powerline device such as this. Powerline adapters tend to be much more stable and faster than wifi connections but they depend highly on your house's electrical system. If your house is older, it might not work very well.

If you tried all of this and you've determined that your equipment is not at fault, then by all means, blame Treyarch. lol

When playing on PC, i use the ASUS ROG 27 inch 1440p, 144hz, 1ms response monitor, and my ps4 is hooked up to my 55 inch samsung.

Obviously you don't need a $800 1440p gaming monitor, but the asus 1080p 144hz monitor is famous for its performance. I use one as my secondary monitor and couldnt be happier.

almost the same one i've had for 5 years - same brand, but mine is 24 inch. Pro gamers tend to use 24, and I don't think it costs too much more. Mine is still going strong and absolutely perfect for the price - 0 dead pixels, no problems and I move it around a lot. I have no idea what the £350 monitors offer that this doesn't but I doubt it's even close to worth the difference

This ASUS VN247H is what I've been using for the past 2 years. No problems at all and I use them for console gaming and my PC monitor.

1ms latency and it was $300 when I bought it. Now it's $170.

A new router seems to be the way to go. By default my router had uPnP on and it still caused a problem. It sucks that its 2016 and companies can't get uPnP correct. Here is my current set up:
