Hard to know for sure without a picture of the actual harness or factory stereo though. Do you know if the factory stereo had an amplifier outside of the deck? If so, it would be less hastle to use a wiring kit. Else, you have to run worws to each speaker from the deck and that is not fun.... Also, you will have to tag an accessory line under the steering column (this is a wire that is 12v when the car ignition is turned on.) Your car had GM LAN, so the stereo received that info through the stock harness over a serial protocol.
