I had to look it up, no an apple guy. They do have the app on itunes and i forgot they also have a web interface so no app needed though the android app did have a nice interface and was easy to use.

I don't have much experience with home dvr kits as I set up commercial ones which had Windows installed, but it looks like this one just needs an internet connection to stream.
