It's not the best performing cooler in the world but it will do an 8700k no problem as long as u have mounting hardware

What is he charging?

Any of these three below will destroy it in cooling performance:

Great: Scythe Mugen 5 Rev.B 120mm Air CPU Cooler, Tower Heatsink with 6 Heatpipes, Quiet PWM Fan, Intel LGA1151, AMD AM4/Ryzen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06ZYB8K77/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Ua.ODbV70A7RN

Better: Scythe Fuma 2 120mm Air CPU Cooler, Twin Tower Heatsinks with 6 heatpipes, Dual PWM Fans, Intel LGA1151, AMD AM4/Ryzen https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RFNG89S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_2.-ODbCTFMDNC

Best: Thermalright Le Grand Macho RT (with fan TY-147B) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BCLXO7Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_ka.ODbYSZHAQF

4 pin RGB connector only powers the LEDs,it won't power the fans, for that you'll have to plug in the molex(most probably, the one with only two male pins). Keep in mind you can't control fans with molex, they will run at full speed but they're pretty quiet imo. If you want to control them, you'll have to get a one fan header to three way splitter, cooler master most probably only includes molex to three way splitter.

It will be tough doing it via internet shopping due to you only looking at photos of the item. It's be even tougher finding a decent electronics stores that will have various cables in stock to you can look at the jack to see if it's likely to fit.

May the RNG Fairy smile at you during your search.

Looking at the cable provided though, I think this can fit into the headset jack and then it's just a case of getting a longer male/male 4 pole cable to connect it to the pc.

Yeah, you're right I meant the 3.0 ports. Annoying little shits, I really hate this new trend of having half a dozen different kinds of USB. Defeats the whole point of calling it USB. Oh well.

That's obnoxious, but thanks for the answer.

Do you think something like this would work?

You can always get the Sabrent Internal USB 3 HUB: https://www.amazon.com/Sabrent-Port-Internal-Controller-HB-INTR/dp/B0794V75LB/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=sabrent+internal+usb+3+hub&qid=1569146145&s=gateway&sr=8-3 Then you get 3 internal and 2 external USB 3 ports inside your case. There is some people reporting having issues with it when using the provided SATA power cable that powers the HUB. Read the reviews! But it should work fine without the SATA power connected if you only use it for the 2 front ports that you are currently not using.

I can't find it when I search on Amazon, but the link /u/rajface provided still seems to work: http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Exclusive-Capacitive-SGK-5000-GKCT1-US/dp/B00MY3S288

Any 3.5" to 2.5" bracket works. This one works.

Just adding that this one costs just as much as a single version.

You need to connect the RGB plug (4pin female) Example to the RGB header on a motherboard. Example. Or use a seperate RGB controller.

u/Saturnix · 1 pointr/coolermaster

By the way, do you happen to know if I’ll be able to control RGB colors of all 3 fans via motherboard? The motherboard has these outputs: RGB_HEADER1 and AMD_FAN_LED1 (which I ain’t gonna use). Do I have to buy this? https://www.amazon.it/Accessorio-Possibilità-collegamento-Compatibile-R4-ACCY-RGBS-R2/dp/B0719QY63M

Hi! Here are the answers to your questions in numerical order:

  1. The fans are RGB, not ARGB. You can verify this by looking at the RGB cable from the fans. If it's 3 pin, it's ARGB. If it's 4 pin, it's RGB.
  2. Nope. Due to the different voltage requirements, you can cause some issues with your lights if you plug the fans into the ARGB hub.
  3. You can connect all the fans to one single port if you use a splitter. Cooler Master sells one on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-Splitter-Compatibility-Radiators/dp/B0719QY63M
  4. You don't need to buy a second RGB controller, as they're all the same, with no motherboard output.
  5. The CPU block is RGB, and yes, you will still have to plug the RGB line from the block to your motherboard's RGB header even if you swap your fans.

    Hope this answered your questions.

Seems to have popped back on Amazon at $99.90. If you're looking for cheaper, BHPhotoVideo has it for $49.99 (currently out of stock though), but I believe you have to pay shipping of about $20. I argued with Amazon about their pricing for a while, especially because I have Prime, but they justified it by saying that other vendors don't account for shipping cost in their prices (which seems kind of silly to me, given that I pay for "free" two day shipping already)
