I use tube tops! Super cheap and very comfortable. They look like this https://www.amazon.com/USA-Seamless-Solid-Cropped-Bandeau/dp/B00RDHU4HC , and what I do is wrap them around my belly and sort of roll my catheter into a spiral / bundle and tuck it in. No tape and tbh I don’t even notice it anymore. Also for the record I’m a boy, so no shame at all using women’s products. They have the good stuff in all honesty

No problem.

Since he has a chest access, he probably won't be able to take showers. I recommend getting these disposable wipes and shower caps for him. I used those when I had my catheter in my chest when I first started dialysis and it helped me stay clean.

Good luck to you and your brother and stay strong. He needs a lot of support.

There are some calorie dense "kidney safe" drinks, though they're a little pricey. They're called Nepro Liquid Nutrition.

Here is an example link to amazon. 24-pack (8 oz) for $80. I've tried them and they're not bad, and each one is 425 calories.

I use these. They’re noise cancelling and they’re Bluetooth, but they have a headphone/aux cable to connect that way as well. The noise cancelling is also a good enough to drown out the rumbling noises of the clinic, and although you can still hear the beeps, it’s a lot less grating on the ears. Audio quality is also pretty good.

>Bluetooth spring scale

This is the one that auto-logs with the Nxstage hhd app. Works great! Mine is accurate as we compared it repeatedly to our balance beam scale.

While on bluetooth subject, this is the bp monitor that they told me to get.

Not sure which ones you are looking at but I see then for like $30 in Amazon in the US. https://www.amazon.com/Medline-MDS80441-Caster-Chrome-Adjustable/dp/B0015GPEBS

Stay cool I always get nervous about my sweat not only peeling off the bandage but it just seems dirty to me. I have things called shower shields that cover like an 8x8 patch with clear plastic and a full border adhesive.you can get them on amazon.

I would talk to your doctor / dietitian before taking any of this advice on here. Everyone dietary needs are different.

That being said this is the cookbook my wife bought.
Renal Diet Cookbook: The Low Sodium, Low Potassium, Healthy Kidney Cookbook

There's good recipes in there, but check with your Dr first.

I use this one as my go to headphones for dialysis and work. They're a bit bulky and expensive, but they have a long cable and they're closed, so they isolate a bit, but they're not a sound isolating like for example sony. As to put them on, I have no issue if you just put one can on at the time and slide it on your head.
