I said this recently in a similar thread which I guess was deleted - if he doesn't already have it he might be really excited to get a copy of The Atlas of the Dragonlance World.
It's out of print but I think that any true Dragonlance fan would be excited to get even a used copy of it. I believe that it pulls together a lot of the maps and technical drawings from the old D&D modules.
It's pretty comprehensive, I highly recommend it. After all of these years it's one of the only Dragonlance books I've held onto, along with the Collector's Editions of the Chronicles and Legends trilogies.
These are some really great supplements for any Dragonlance fan.

Tales of the Lance Boxed Set was extremely informative, well packaged, and fun.

Not familiar with what Tracy is doing these days (other comments mention it, though), but Margaret is still actively (co-)writing novels. For example, Privateer (2018):

Well...
If you're a fan of Lord Soth...
There's Knight of the Black Rose and Spectre of the Black Rose.
The Dark Powers welcomes you to Ravenloft.
This book clears up all the mystery. Takes place in between Chronicles 1 and 2 and is on audible. Enjoy!

i've been a fan for a long time and i was thrilled to finally get the atlas (https://www.amazon.com/Atlas-Dragonlance-World-Books/dp/0880384484); it's always hard to know which of the paperbacks someone owns but the atlas is big and a bit more expensive so not as many of us have it.
The book is Lost Histories vol. 5: The Gully Dwarves.

I actually remembered reading that one. Hope this helps!
As much as my jealousy pains me, I can't bring myself to lie to you - that thing's currently selling on Amazon for nearly $500:

I've been praying for a significant price drop, but I'm sure it will never come.
You are in for a wild ride! I grew up reading DL and have not revisited it in a long while.
This is the most comprehensible resource for Chrono & Pub reading orders: https://dragonlancereadingorder.com/. I love reading series in Chrono order. However, DL is an exception. You should:
From there the Sky's the Limit. I would go pack and read all of the stand alone and early Chrono books before moving into War of Souls, (more of) the Chaos Wars or anything from the 5th age.
I want to also share 2 of my most prized editions:

I wish Brandon Sanderson would publish his annotation in a physical volume like this. Same with WOT.
The Dragonlance Chronicles are the core of the series as far as I know, they are the 3-7 books in the main story of the companions written by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman.

I always believed these and in this order is the best to read them in. And you can find the first three and second three in a box set usually.
There is a book called "The Black Wing" by Mary Kirchoff that is written from the perspective of the dragon from Xak Tsaroth.
It might be in this book.
I had this book ages ago...
