I don't have either yet. When first reading about the droid, I thought you had to trick it to go into either of the "mount" modes (car or dock). There was already the car app on my phone and there's a free dock app in the Market that's great. As for getting a car mount, I got my dad one for his Garmin very similar to this last year. He loves it--it's also easy to move between different cars. I'd read somewhere that the window-mount style docks aren't good for all cars (like those with a steep angle, like the Prius). I can't say from first-hand experience though.
I use the OEM Motorola Droid Shell Holster Combo Pack.
It feels high quality, and the clip is very strong. And most importantly, it's easy enough to take off the back part when I want to use it on my PC or car dock.
I know you specifically wanted a docking station, but I recently bought the Soundfreaq SFQ-1 to use with my HTC Thunderbolt, and I have no regrets. It connects via bluetooth and is therefore compatible with most modern electronic devices. Useful, so that other people can use it regardless of what brand of phone/computer/tablet they use, and also good to know that my future devices won't render it obsolete. It sounds amazing, to boot. If I'm listening to something for an extended period of time I'll just plug my phone into a separate charger and lay it next to the dock.
I recommend Steinheil series screen protectors. They don't effect image quality or screen input, and they are perfectly cut for your phone. Here's a link for the DINC 2.

Take of picture with another camera, upload to your host of choice (this is reddit so Imgur is ideal) then link in this thread.
That said, yeah, that is just the glass. You need something like this

that comes with the frame and what not.
I don't remember exactly what I bought. The next question would be how confident are you in your repair skills? I saw a video on it, and you also need a really small screwdriver and a special screwdriver that wasn't shipped with the tool kit (grumble grumble)
Also you might want to look into what some repair shops in your area would charge for doing it. Either just labor (you buy the parts yourself) or full service. You can probably save a bit of money by getting the parts yourself, but if you have them do it fully you would be covered by any warrenty they have. If you buy the part yourself you would only be covered by whatever they seller offers. I kinda got burned in this way cause I bought the parts myself, then took it to a shop. The work was done fine but after that my battery life went to shit. Literally would go from 100% to 0 in 8 hours sitting with the screen off the whole time.
So food for thought.
