According to this book, women all over the world are getting access to education and family planning and they choose to have 1-2 kids or none at all. This has happened in China (their birth rate is now 1.62), while India's birth rates are just at replacement rate and dropping, that's almost half the world population right there. Governments may not want to change their economic models to deal with stable or decreasing economies right now, but they will when they have no choice but to do it or collapse.

We can stabilize and decrease the world population in a humane fashion by giving women education and control over their own bodies. So we should be supporting groups like PLAN and the Gates Foundation for contributing to those things.
I want entirely sure what it was called...but it's similar to the soda stream with less branding and doesn't require specialized bottles
