Got it. I'm talking about a pressure RELIEF cap. I've got the Stant. These have a lever that allows you to release the pressure prior to opening. Of course you can open factory caps when hot... if you like playing the crack, close, crack, close game, risking leopard burn spots on arms and legs, etc.
This is the style I have. I didn't look at the part number for this one, so don't buy without looking up.

Like $175ish. Something to note is they will squeak for a few days because the rotors are painted and that may rub against the parking brake. Mine settled after about 50~ miles. When you first burnish these, there's going to be a LOT of smoke since the paint gets burned off. The drilled and slotted portions are not completely equidistant from one another, so if you're OCD, these aren't the brakes for you.
Overall for the price, it's impossible to beat. And they bite hard.
Late to reply, but when I did my trap door, I never dropped the tank. I lucked out and my neighbor had one of these. Works magically and the only cleanup is picking up a couple strips of metal. You may be able to rent one from a rental place or hardware store. There was about 2" of clearance to the tank so you could really get away with any cutting tool that doesn't require more than that.
