Since you have an Android device, only Android handsets are suggested below.

If you consider what is currently offered directly from Freedom:
> for LTE: ZTE Grand X 4

> for 3G: Either the Sony Xperia XA Ultra or LG Stylo II Plus

Though, the Sony Xperia XA1 Ultra has Industry Canada certification, so is highly likely that Freedom will carry the LTE Ready G3223 variant, which should slot in at the same price as the current XA Ultra.

If new and non-carrier (unlocked) is what you are going for, the Moto G5 Plus sold by Amazon US is a good option, and is also LTE Ready for Freedom's LTE network.

If NEW is not a requirement, you could purchase an unlocked previous generation flagship phone like the Samsung S6 (& its edge /edge+ variants) or the LG V10 second-hand, possibly within that budget.

  It has b4 for 3g, so it should work at least on 3g network, but it doesn't have b13 for lte (according to this Amazon page).
  Does it mean it's gonna work with 3g only?

Interestingly it has a poor rating on Amazon.com (which is why I refuse to buy the Samsung) but its got a great rating on Amazon.ca. Well battery life does seem to be extremely good and its not too expensive. Where are you buying this from? Have you got a link? I see this:

I did a little more research on the phone since the phone has been well received as a mid-range phone and Amazon(com) has the same International model that states it has band 66 for LTE.

Amazon(CA) states the same XT1925-2 International Model, but only shows a few bands.

I sent in a question and one of the community members states it works with Freedom, but the seller (JP Mobiles CA) has the same bands mentioned on the Amazon page. The band list doesn't fully match to any of the versions on GSMARENA.COM

The Global version which is available on Amazon.ca (here) only says GSM / HSPA / LTE ( https://www.gsmarena.com/xiaomi_mi_a2_(mi_6x)-9140.php#mi-a2 - under the Mi A2 tab) Wish I could make sense of it (or get hold of an IMEI I could test on the Freedom website).
