Here's the link to the one I have Snoozer Lookout II Pet Car Seat, Large II, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001G8D7KK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_-LwFybC36FBA9

It is great as the cover is easy to remove and very durable as well as the foam structure is strong and can handle two fat frenchies at a time. It also has a great front storage unit built in.

You’re already winning! Mine usually won’t even go #1! I have this one which is good because it’s not as tight around the chest area. But she hates the hood. I have just gotten a huge golf umbrella and keep it over her.

It's not unusual to lose some fur in the areas if there was irritation. It should grow back. (At least it did in my English Bulldog.)

Also - an important part to cleaning a Bully's folds is drying. So baby wipes are good, but you're also going to want to carefully blot/dry the area with some cotton squares (at least during humid months). Any type of moisture allows in the bad stuff that causes infections and irritation.

Tear stains sometimes just come with the territory. You can alter it with diet - most people swear by treatments like Angel Eyes - but sometimes switching out food can help as well. My girl had food allergies, and we were always on high quality, small-batch grain-free diet with her, and I think that made a difference.

Also, if they had some irritation, it can cause stains and then it takes a while for new, non-stained fur to grow back in. Otherwise, the best thing to do is keep the folds dry.

I also liked Vetricyn for my girl. I'd soak a cotton square, apply it to her wrinkles, let it sit for 30-60 minutes and then clean and dry it out.

We feed her Wellness.

Our frenchie was really picky when we first rescued her and would only eat foods that were harmful for her (ie: had grains).

There have been a lot of recalls on Taste of the Wild, so we avoided that brand. May be better now, but just an FYI

I would not bring your Frenchie with you. 80-90 degrees is too hot for them to be outside even in the shade with water, in my opinion. Short-nosed dogs have a pretty hard time cooling themselves and you don’t want your pup to get heat stroke.

For quick trips to the dog park, I think we had a cool coat similar to this one: https://www.amazon.com/digPets-Hurtta-Collection-Cooling-Harness/dp/B00IMCW164/ref=as_li_ss_tl

We use Puppia in an XL for our 30lb frog. It is great for walks, we put it on when going outside

Pet Studio Pine Frame Dog RampSteps, 3 Step https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004IN9NAS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_GAcWzbVTJBMTJ

I just bought these last night. The price tag is a little high, but I thought I'd give it a shot. If not, I'll return them and check out the kind you suggested. Thank you! :).

Any tips for training your dog to use them? Or did they just do it on their own?

On Amazon — it doesn't look like they have it anymore but here's another one like it!

Clean with warm water and a soft cloth or even Q-tips. Does his nose get dry? We use a nose moisturizer, Bully Butter.

u/ebola_monkey · 1 pointr/frogdogs

It's available on Amazon, and probably a few other retailers.

Ours used to fall asleep "nursing"(?) on one of the tips of a plushy star-shaped dog toy. ..She would get really into it though and suck on it for like an hour sometimes before she'd actually fall asleep.

I use a Ruffwear Front Range harness: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LHXZX88/ref=twister_B00M81FS8I?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

My Frenchie is about 21lbs and uses a small. We were previously using a Puppia harness but we believe it was giving him a rash under his arm pits. Wasn't easy to find one that didn't have contact with that area..

FYI for those with Frenchies that pull.

If you have a frenchie that pulls, a traditional harness is not fun. When my guy wears his harness on walks it makes him want to pull more, so we end up in tug of war the entire walk. Gotta get the harness with the leash that attaches on his side/front so if he pulls it turns him sideways.

I've tried tons of butters and lotions, but so far, Bag Balm has been the best. It smells a little bit medicinal, but it keep the nose moist for days at a time (because I'm a terrible mother and forget to put it on most of the time).

A few days after you start using it, a gross layer of hard snout will slough off, but then you're left with a soft pink snoot.

Edited to add: Bag Balm Ointment, 8 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0014CI4X8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_9p4bzbW3E4PWW

I rescued mine in Canada when he was 1.5 years-old. The overall costs of that was $800. Then he got fixed, which was around $600. He was then trained for 8 weeks, and that was about $1000. We feed him Acana 6-Fish, which costs RUFFely (get it?) $80 a month. Treats (Benny Bullys all the way!) are about $30 a month. We also feed him lots of fresh fruits and veggies but that comes out of our own food budget.

We also use MalAcetic wipes for his feet, folds, tail pocket and ears twice a day. Those are about $35 every 2 months.

We have been SOOO grateful that our guy is now 4 and has never had A SINGLE issue yet besides the odd ear infection (knock on wood). No back or hip issues, no insane allergies, no breathing problems, etc. Obviously things spring up here and there like new toys, new collars, ointment for cuts or rashes, etc. But those are all things I imagine a regular dog would cost.

Because we rescued him, we do have a good chunk of money put away for emergency rather than using pet insurance. We also put away a little bit from our pay cheques to top this as well to avoid going through a pet insurance company.

As you can see, not all frenchies are going to cost you 30k. A lot of it is going to depend on a reputable breeder and/or their genetics.
