I drilled some holes in the walls and ran the cables, but that can be kind of expensive if you don't already have the tools (Here's a video if your curious https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e2--l-YX1HU ).

But this isn't always necessary. Here's another video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSqbXl5m4_o

They also make things like this https://www.amazon.com/Cable-Management-Channel-Organizing-Wall/dp/B0781J9Q2S/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?keywords=wire+hiders&qid=1555747014&s=gateway&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1 they work pretty well as long as you paint them to match the room.

buy these .. 23 dolllars and will make room a ton better. Would also get one of these and put them on the top of ceiling. 40 bucks for a quick little makeover! Also would order more of those red and black "acoustic panels" and get like a 48 pack and fill in the holes on the wall you have! Hope this helps

I've been using these for awhile and love them:

Blue light has been shown to improve mood and have even been used in suicide prevention at train/subway stations: http://nextcity.org/daily/entry/how-blue-lights-on-train-platforms-combat-tokyos-suicide-epidemic

I use them in my game room.

I'm using my receiver, Pioneer 1120k, for as much as I can but it's limited on the analog inputs. It directly handles the HDMI.

HDMI:
-Wii U
-Xbox 360
-PS4
-Xbox One

Component (two switch boxes going to the receiver inputs)
-Xbox
-PS2
-PS3
-Gamecube
-Wii
-PSP Go

S-Video I had to run directly to the projector and audio to the receiver as S-Video seems to be unpopular these days. Two 6 port switch boxes, with one chained through the other. That makes up everything but the Atari 7800 and Top Loader NES. Those two are composite and directly wired into the receiver.
