Gotcha. I agree, the iron law of wages is bullshit.

>It would be had to study scientifically, but the long arc of history seems to indicate sociologically that in the absence of continuous technological innovation or cardul political management complex societies fall prey to monopolization and economic stratification.

The new Acemoglu and Robinson book is all about this, if you are interested in this sort of stuff you might find it interesting.

A good book on the topic of HK housing is Alice Poon's "Land and the Ruling Class in Hong Kong" (https://www.amazon.com/Land-Ruling-Class-Hong-Kong/dp/9814339105)

This was recommended to me by a HK native; consider my surprise to find out that between the analyses of developer land-hoarding and government corruption, the central thread of the book is an appeal to enact a true LVT.

As others have mentioned, South Africa has had some mention of Land Value Taxation in its land reform debate. It doesn't seem the ruling parties are very interested, but it is being advocated for.

A recentish book written by Stephen Mientjes advocate a full Georgist shift.

Most taxes should be abolished.
