I've been doing more travel recently, so I bought a nice pair of Sony XM1000MX3 noise cancelling headphones. This means I don't need my Plantronics Voyager Focus UC headphones/headset anymore. It's a nice Bluetooth/USB stereo headset that comes with a charging stand, a USB Bluetooth radio dongle, and a carrying case. It goes for $166.28 on Amazon right now and I'm asking $125. Here's a Photo.

It's perfect for someone who works from home and needs to drown out a little background noise but not airplane engines. The sound is good (not audiophile quality, but very good for this class of product), and the noise-reduction microphones are really good for calls/Skype. I even used it to record audio for screenshot tutorials and it worked pretty well.

I live in Simpsonville, and have used a Clearstream C5 (Walmart Link) for the past couple years . Previous house, installed in attic, ABC was hit or miss (mostly 'miss) but everything else came in great.

We recently moved 1/2 mile away, but in the general direction of Asheville, and ABC...56.8 miles away, according to tvfool.com, and ABC comes in pretty damn well. Still installed in the attic, about the same overall height above grade (~25') - at the front anyway. Our new yard slopes towards the rear, and we have a walk-out bsmt...so it's an additional 12' or so above grade at the rear - not sure if that's also helping

edit: Using an RCA pre-amp which makes a HELLUVA difference, too. ABC, and some others, don't work at all without it. link

Location will be near downtown. Possibly the public library, before I go thru the work of securing space I wanted to know if there was interest. So far, not much.

Does anyone want an elliptical? I bought one after forgetting I have little motivation and self-discipline. Here is the item on amazon. Asking price is $50.

It's a rexing v1. Had it about two years and I would recommend it, the only issue I've had is likely due to my own laziness. The manual states you need to reformat the sd card once a month. I don't always do that and have had some videos come up with errors because of it.

Looks like they have a new version with some new features now: https://www.amazon.com/Rexing-Dashboard-Recorder-G-Sensor-Recording/dp/B00X528FNE/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=rexing+dash+cam&qid=1567164656&s=gateway&sr=8-4

I'm not sure what your point here was, but I'll try to address the things that I can.

> ...you cited Amazon books, but no actual pages or paragraphs. for me to check

Copyrights, such as they are, make it impossible to link to individual pages. And, unfortunately, I don't have hard copies readily available. Amazon is the best I can provide on short notice. Scanning through their "look inside" feature I can point to to "Albion's Seed", paperback edition 1991, p. 421 - 451. While not the entirety of his writing on the subject, Fischer goes into some depth on the Quakers, their history, and impact on the Delaware valley. The "look inside" tool provided for Woodard's "American Nations" does not include a search feature so I cannot be as helpful there. Regardless, if you haven't read either of them I'd recommend both--but start with the latter as Albion's Seed is quite dry and academic; a bit of a slog tbh. The First Frontier by Scott Weidensaul is also pretty good, if you're into this constellation of historical topics.

> Seriously that Blog post is shit.

I provided it for some general context, not as a gold standard of scholarly writing. For that, you can check out the books I mentioned and delve into their respective bibliographies.

> Plus the Scots-Irish immigration was so great that Presbyterianism became the largest religious sect until the civil war. Look it up.

I don't think I need to. First, the point isn't about absolute numbers over time, it's about foundational establishment--which Quakers (and Quaker-sympathizers) certainly cornered long before the Scots-Irish. Second, correct me if I'm wrong, but it's my understanding that many/most Scots-Irish immigrants of the early colonial era went to the western frontiers in the hills and beyond (essentially modern "Pennsyltucky"). It was there they laid their own cultural foundations and spread them south. To them, E. PA and the Delaware valley was filled up with folks who they didn't get along too well with (going all the way back to their days Britain). Neither group cared much for the other and both remained aloof or antagonistic. I think it's unfair to assume that these groups averaged out. I mean, that's sorta my point here--you can still see the lines in modern voting maps.

> When Penn's sons, who disavowed quakerism, took control, influence dried up.

Perhaps we differ on what we mean by "influence". Penn's sons didn't erase every law in the book or purge community leaders and re-educate all the children. Quaker-inspired ideas were already rooted and integrated into the fabric of the society, even in non-Quaker houses. That's not to say it was 1-directional, but my point was that they had a significant influence, and patterns of life and culture are notoriously sticky (in the absence of genocide). Perhaps their direct political influence was curtailed, but the long slow background radiation persisted, and (I think) still does.

The Havard situation is 2017, not the segregated past. MLK jr. would roll in his grave to find out how much segregation is create by black people.

Mexicans are Aztec Indians. Their slave history is longer, but it is different.

Your vid....that's what the Democratic Party has done to blacks. Ya gotta read the modern book: Black Genocide. If BLM was FOR REAL they would protest Muslims.

The Muslim "slave trade was much longer and more brutal than transatlantic slave trade". IT IS STILL GOING ON! Yet, a lot of blacks convert to Middle Eastern religions in prisons now b/c supposedly the food is better and more free time "to pray". It's that mindset, that mind hive, when black people are absolutely shitted on, but allow manipulation.

Manipulation has also occurred as the KKK was the Democratic Party, yet majority of blacks vote democratic. BLM riot and burn down black communities, yet BLM is funded by the white man named George Soros. There continues to be black slaves in the Middle East today, yet instead of standing up for their people-some black people convert to the middle Eastern faith unaware. When black people behave morally ,upholding their values or even speak formally they are accused of acting white.---

WTF. It blows my mind. It's like some mighty evil force is against blacks and BLACK PEOPLE DONT SEE IT. Instead of listening, all ya hear from blacks is that the voice of reason is racist.

Oh man. It’s taken months.

I trapped two and relocated them about 3 miles away. But there were more. The traps stopped working and I was only catching squirrels until the squirrels wised up.

So I used an anticoagulant bait block to poison them and some gas bombs.

So the bait blocks with anti-coagulants, it doesn’t work. Most rodent-type animals have built up immunity. So they ate up the blocks but we were discovering new holes. So I gassed the minks like a chipmunk nazi. You stick the bombs in an active hole light the fuse, and bury it quickly. I was positive this killed a few.

2 weeks later new holes. “Fuck!” So I started reading up on the poison that wasn’t working and figured out that they were immune and bought a second generation poison. it has bromethalin. 2nd generation poison worked really well. In 3 weeks I found one new hole. Filled that hole with poison and I hit them with these guys which is a sound repellent..

Ever since I used 2nd gen poison and the sound repellent, I have not seen a new chipmunk hole and they have disappeared. But now the burrows are collapsing, my front walk way is broken, and someone will break an ankle running through my front yard. So it’s time to fix it, hence the dirt question.

Seriously, get rid of chipmunks as fast as you can. They will cause foundation issues if they burrow too close to your home. Gas the munks. Poison. Whatever you need to do.
