Hey, man. Alrighty. So, a couple of things here....

  1. Even for the same model (e.g. BB960), IBUYPOWER doesn't necessarily use the same components (I suspect that they pull whatever they have available in inventory). So your motherboard could be practically anything that supports an Intel 9th generation CPU. To find out exactly which motherboard you have, run System Info in Windows 10. Then look for the BaseBoardManufacturer, BaseBoardProduct, and BaseBoardVersion fields. That'll tell you what MoBo you have. Then you can Google for that mother board's manual to read through it to see what RAM type and max speeds it supports.
  2. That said, looking at the specs on Best Buy, it comes with 8 GB of DDR4 RAM clocked at 2666 Mhz. So, if you just want to get identical RAM, then you can buy pretty much any DDR4 2666 Mhz stick. Something like Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Vengeance-2666MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B0123ZC44Y/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=corsair+ddr4+2666&qid=1563028677&s=gateway&sr=8-1) or the RGB version of that if you like that sort of thing ( https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Vengeance-2666MHz-Desktop-Memory/dp/B07D1WWBL3/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=corsair+ddr4+2666&qid=1563028677&s=gateway&sr=8-3 ) would be just fine.
  3. Also, looking at the video card, you have an NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2060. So, that's a pretty good card. If you were going to upgrade, it would likely be to either an RTX 2080 Super or an RTX 2080 Ti. Either of those will run you about $1K. So I'm not sure if it's worth it to you.

I hope that helps. Thanks and have a good one.

Never replaced the fan actually! Instead of CPU cooler upgrade I disabled hyperthreading in the bios. This made for a massive reduction in temps while gaming. The plan was to just do that for a week or two then pickup a cooler but I never did. I'll likely grab this one when I finally get around to it, after researching it's a nice one worth the extra $20 or so, easier to install and better performing. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C9EYVGY/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A1Z5H6ZGWCMTNX&psc=1

Thanks for replying Brad,

Do you think three fans (2 in front pushing and 1 pulling on the top) will still do a single digit change in temperature? Or should I buy a AIO watercooler for the GPU?

Edit: Even with a more agressive fan curve my temp is still at 82c, 95% fan speed running at 82c. Same as default fan curve.

(tested with PUBG)

Edit 2: Can I watercool my gpu with a NZXT Kraken G12 mount + Corsair H105 240mm liquid cooler?

Ok, somewhat common issue with the Element case. You will need to take the rear side panel off (the metal one) and trace that wire. It will eventually plug into a molex to fan header adapter to plug the fan into the power supply.

It will look something like this product

https://www.amazon.com/ExtremeMod-Computer-Connector-Y-Splitter-Adapter/dp/B00DU8ZZ0O

The loose end of the fan cable plugs into one of the 3 pin connectors (its keyed so it can only plug in one way) and then that should give power to the fan.

It seems to have the best speed and CAS latency combination available. And I wouldn't have paid for Kingston over the other RAM otherwise as I doubt the Kingston Value RAM is any better than what is otherwise provided.

Also for almost as much as the cost to upgrade to 16GB of RAM that I mistakenly chose I can get 32GB Kingston HyperX 2400 memory on Amazon for $148.99

Anyways, is there a difference between intake or exhaust fans? Or are all fans intake/exhaust depending on what direction you face them? And how many fans can you add to the bb931? I'm sure there is a limited amount of space to plug into?

And this was the one I was looking at buying https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00F6S10MI/ref=mp_s_a_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1499312269&sr=8-5&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=pc+intake+fan&dpPl=1&dpID=511AmZVcPML&ref=plSrch

Thanks for the help!

Does your headset have a TRRS (tip-ring-ring-sleeve, 3 rings) cable or individual mic (red) and headphone (green) cables? If you have TRRS, it may not work and you will have to use an adapter like this.

https://www.amazon.com/iBUYPOWER-Computer-Desktop-i7-9700k-9230/dp/B07J5RPC32 this is my computer although i got it from costco, and they dont seem to have it anymore. I was able to control the lights on the cooler and in the system just fine from the bios and the polychrome software until i updated the boards bios a while ago. Now when i open the poly chrome software, it says "Access violation at address 0055E5A8 in module 'AsrPolychromeRGB.exe'.Read of adress FFFFFFEC" and wont open. Ive tried different version of the software, but nothing works.

Hey Brad, not sure you'll see this but I ordered a new fan/heatsink and it didn't fit. The screw holes didn't quite match up, half inch off in both directions. I'm now confused. I bought the intel desktop from IBuyPower in 2010, so assume it's a 1156 socket. It was one of your top-of-the-line gaming PCs for the time.

Old broken cooling unit looks like this:

New one claimed to be 1150/1155/1156 compatible:

Wondering if you have any advice? Thanks again.

Thanks for commenting. I’m thinking these for the RAM and GPU. I shouldn’t run into any problems with wiring/connections/fit should I?

My PC didn’t come with screws for the M.2 slots and I had to order M.2 screw set when I ordered my M.2 SSD. Assuming you have an AsRock board, here’s a cheap screw and driver set (not magnetic driver so PITA)
