Very interesting looking book. I haven't bought it yet but I was talking to the publisher on Instagram and it seems like it has a lot of cool info on type of ink, implements and the actual tattoos as well as pictures. He also said he is publishing more irezumi books. His Instagram is also very interesting for anyone that is into history and info.

I highly recommend Brian Ashcraft's book. Very informative on themes and meaning, talks about some pairing stuff too. Best part, it's inexpensive!

Start working flexibility on those shoulders!

For those who can't dislocate their shoulders, try a reachy brushy thingy. That's the technical term.

Make sure you read his story before getting tattooed. He could be a little woman beater or rapist and then you are screwed.
Here is a link to the book.

Cool pic by the way.
My favourite Suikoden pic is Wu Song fighting a tiger by Kuniyoshi.
Edit- With regards to your question, my advice is just keep look and do as much research as possible. This way you will find images with meaning that resonate with you.
