Wanda is pretty hard to rec for, because most of her time is in the Avengers. Which is this huge glob of comics. HoM is NOT her best story though. It's not even about her. She spends most of it in a coma while everything is happening to everyone else. It's just the most infamous now.

I think she was at her best powers wise during Busiek's run. She had a decent amount of power but wasn't just used as a device with no story of her own. https://www.amazon.com/Avengers-Assemble-Vol-1998-2004-ebook/dp/B00AR0655M/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=kurt+busiek+avengers&qid=1557510533&s=books&sr=1-1

There are more recs for things like her origin (which was in Avengers #234), and Avengers: Knights of Wundagore goes into her power link to Chthon https://www.amazon.com/Avengers-Nights-Wundagore-David-Michelinie/dp/0785137211

Just in general for the character, her mini written by Abnett in the 90s and Vision and the Scarlet Witch are good suggestions for any Scarlet Witch fan. https://www.amazon.com/SCARLET-WITCH-January-LANNING-ABNETT/dp/B001FW4UGM/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=scarlet+witch+dan+abnett&qid=1557510502&s=books&sr=1-3-catcorr

I don't personally like her newest retcon but I did like Robinson's idea of making her a magic detective (ala

Constantine). Keep in mind that this one changes artists every issue and that can be jarring. Her newest solo is good in some ways https://www.amazon.com/Scarlet-Witch-Vol-Witches-Road/dp/078519682X/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=robinson+scarlet+witch&qid=1557510680&s=books&sr=1-3

Force Works is also a bad comic for Iron Man fans but a good moment for Wanda as a character. She lead that team and did pretty well. https://www.amazon.com/Avengers-Iron-Man-Force-Works/dp/1302900560/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=force+works&qid=1557510743&s=books&sr=1-1

Most of the times Wanda's powers flux. And she's at different power levels at different times, so there are no consistent recs for that. But imo, she's best when she's not uber powerful. Because that allows for her best character moments.

Copy/pasting from my answer in another thread:

First worth noting that if you don't want to spend like $1,000 on comics you can get Marvel Unlimited, which has all of this stuff and is a flat $10/month.

You want to start with Brian Michael Bendis' New Avengers: https://www.amazon.com/New-Avengers-Omnibus-Vol-1/dp/0785164898
and House of M: https://www.amazon.com/House-M-Brian-Michael-Bendis/dp/0785117210/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1524074098&sr=1-1&keywords=house+of+m

From there, you can follow the reading order through Civil War, Secret Invasion, and Siege. Then there's some other random stuff, til Bendis leaves that book. Then Hickman takes over. You'll want to do Hickman's Fantastic Four run (collected in two omnibuses), and his Avengers run through Time Runs Out and Secret Wars.

SEPARATE FROM ALL THAT is the Cosmic side of things, which I love. You'll start with Annihilation, then Annihilation Conquest. Then Abnett and Lannings Guardians of the Galaxy Omnibus, which will tie in with War of Kings and Realm of Kings.

I went by this reading order pretty religiously: https://www.comicbookherald.com/the-complete-marvel-reading-order-guide/ and have loved it. Some of it is skippable-- feel free to reach out with any questions!

Ultimate is 1610, if you're interested in 616 I suggest picking up the [Epic Collections](Amazing Spider-Man Epic Collection: Great Power https://www.amazon.com/dp/0785188347/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Xd2VDbPFPAZPN). Their being released non chronologically with more popular arcs already out, they also include other series tie ins so you won't get lost when Parker eventually gets four ongoing books at the same time.

Big Time Volume 4 is set to be released in either June or July of this year. It will collect issues 688-697, as well as Avenging Spider-Man 11, and Alpha: Big Time 1-5.

For issues 698-700, I recommend picking up the Superior Spider-Man volume 1 OHC.

Are you talking the entire Jonathan Hickman run from "Avengers World" vol 1 (Which you can grab from here on Amazon) or just starting from the "Time Runs Out" story line (From Here)? Essentially the whole series, time is not on their side. These are all trade paperbacks by the way.

Someone who is completely new to comics is unlikely to understand the difference between 1610 and 616. And explaining it is only going to lead to more confusion!

I second Ultimate Spider-Man as a solid way to start:

I believe I posted on that as well. I recommended this large Hardcover linked below. Handles about the middle of the Avengers and New Avengers run until the end. Combine that with volume 1 of New Avengers to get the initial storyline and explanation of the excursions and you're in really good shape for Secret Wars lead up as far as Avengers books go. You could skip this book if you get the Secret Wars prelude book, as that includes I think the first 2 or 3 issues of New Avengers.

Optional add-on is the Hardcover for Infinity. I never found a book for just infinity 1-6. But the hardcover includes Avengers 14-23, so do not buy Avengers vol 2, or you'll have bought those issues twice. I made that mistake, had the Avengers book, then got Infinity which includes all the same issues. Sold it for half value used. Infinity is a good story, I wouldn't say it's absolutely essential for Secret Wars lead up though.

https://www.amazon.com/New-Avengers-Jonathan-Hickman-1/dp/0785193960/ref=pd_aw_fbt_14_3/139-1577242-7625700?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=0785193960&pd_rd_r=1847ce12-9436-451c-b9a4-1409acb7bcdd&pd_rd_w=HSe82&pd_rd_wg=JHj6e&pf_rd_p=6e6afc8a-fbbd-4649-97cf-4e08f5113612&pf_rd_r=G2F8E79RPJ5E4KGB75V1&psc=1&refRID=G2F8E79RPJ5E4KGB75V1

Edit: here's the Infinity book. Looks like it comes in paperback now, I'd recommend the hardcover though because it's a larger book. Again note that this includes the vol. 2 hardcover issues of Avengers and New Avengers. They're staggered through the book in order with the main Infinity 1-6

Secret Wars Prelude I mentioned above which includes New Avengers 1-3.
