I think it's more likely a reference to Dorothy Day, a religious figure who Aaron has read works from (He included her Selected Writings in his mobile book swap).
In my interpretation of the album Arron built on this with some Wizard of Oz too. The fantasy elements of the album and repeated rainbow imagery, like Aaron busting his head open and the rainbow leaking out in the transition between Red Cow and Dorothy in the music video. Maybe that was him going "over the rainbow" to a fantasy land? I dunno, I'm putting a lot of words in his mouth but it's fun to try and figure out.
Just to be clear Wangerin wrote the original series as well as the rewrites? Looking at this version: https://www.amazon.com/Book-Sorrows-Walter-Wangerin-Jr/dp/031021081X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1538519850&sr=8-2&keywords=book+of+sorrows
Amazon is selling a bunch of "There Is Hope..."
And a little more digging has The Invisible Man EP available here, though it looks like only 2 are left in stock.
It's listed as "Linear" on some early CD presses I believe.
