Thank you for your reply. Wouldn't using a power adapter mean losing the metrics that navdy uses through the OBD-II port like fuel, speed etc.?

I'd take a look at the most recent reviews on Amazon (sort by recent vice top):

The signs are not at all promising and there are lots of complaints the company is incommunicado and/or unable to fix problems.

I too just bought a Navdy but returned it while I could on advice of a couple people here out of concerns re the company's viability.
