HAHAHHA NO. The [M12 holster] (https://www.amazon.com/Weckworth-US-Military-M12-Holster/dp/B00K6Z33I0/ref=pd_sim_200_8?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=P07F0WMAMXFG81BMK60Z) is an inexpensive military issue holster. It's often ragged on for the retention flap, but the way the flap is secured makes it pretty easy to open with a bit of training, and really does offer great retention as well as protection from getting too beat up. I wouldn't recommend it for competition, duty carry, and obviously not street cary where ease of draw becomes extremely important, but for being out in the woods I think it's pretty good.

+1 on all the points here, especially on the Safariland instead of the Serpa.

Personally, I use the Safariland 6360 ALS/SLS for my 1911, which provides Level-III retention; here's one in basketweave finish and one in a plain black finish for the G19 if you're interested.

Note that by default it comes with a belt loop for 2.25" duty belts (which is how I wear mine), but you can get Universal Belt Loop adapters for other belt widths so it can be worn with dress belts - here's a UBL for 2" belts, and here's one for 1.5" belts.

I like the 6360 a bit better than the 6378 because of the added retention provided by the SLS hood, as well as the secure belt loop instead of the paddle.

Also, the offer for OC company is a good one; I'll be happy to give you guys company on your OC jaunts on the weekends, if you can PM me about a day in advance.

If you are feeling like you have to start carrying your defensive weapon sooner than later you should know why a "pocket sized" firearm is going to have next to no open carry options. It's because manufactures make stuff for guns that will sell and people don't tend to open carry small guns. You will find that the open carry holster options easily available will expand with the full and midd sized firearms and logically the larger the gun the smaller the concealed carry holster selection shrinks. It's unfortunately just supply and demand. Your best bet is to either buy a second firearm that has a ton of open carry options but also concealable options as well. Mid sized firearms tend to have a good balance between open carry and concealed carry options. You can also custom order something and wait a month or so for a holster company to manufacture something for you which would ideally be "exactly what you had in mind". Or go with one of the few options that sort of matches what you had in mind; I found you something like this:
Tagua BH1-467 Thumb Break Belt Holster, Sig P-938, Brown, Right Hand https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KDQZZIS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_1midzbQ0XWFVB

1.) First piece of advice, ditch the Serpa and buy a Safariland ALS. 100x sturdier, suede lined, more comfortable. The lock on the Serpa is total shit and there are lots of videos of people literally RIPPING Blackhawks off peoples belts. This ALS will stay on my hip no matter who grabs at it.

2.)Okay now moving on, don't be nervous! That won't help you since my first time I was nervous as hell, but it got easy after a while. 80% of people don't notice my weapon, those that do usually just ask me questions about OC and ask where they can find no information. I've had 0 people get mad or say anything rude about it.

2.5) I'll take this time in between points to repeat DITCH THE SERPA.

3) I live in Northville/Novi MI and work in Detroit, so if you want someone to OC with you for your first time or first few times feel free to shoot me a PM, I'm 26 and have been OCing for 5 years with 0 problems, it's basically second nature to me these days. OCing with another person your first time makes things 100x easier and I wish I would have done that when a few MOC members offered it to me when I first started.

4) Lastly, ditch the Serpa. https://www.amazon.com/Safariland-Concealment-Paddle-Holster-Handed/dp/B00269ZVGG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1468528994&sr=8-1&keywords=safariland+als+glock+19

That ALS is the same one I have, the paddle is VERY sturdy, sometimes hard to get on and off yourself so you can trust nobody else is getting it off of you. Plus it's pretty cheap compared to the amazing quality.

Crkt does makes a nice knife. If you're interested, this is what I carry, I highly recommend it. If you check out my post history, I made a little mini review of it a couple days ago.

WHAT? LOL. The P226 holster will NOT fit a P227, it's much bigger. Some P220R holsters will fit the P227 though.

Anyway, I don't know where you actually looked, but I just checked Safarilands website and they make a buttload of P227 holsters (25 to be exact)...There are multiple police departments that use the P227 so they carry a full line of holsters for the firearm.

For STX Tactical ALS- MODEL: 6378 SKU: 1154243 PART#: 6378-477-131

For STX Plain ALS- MODEL: 6378 SKU: 1154213 PART#: 6378-477-411

Here is the amazon link for the first one I posted, it's listed under the Part# and not the gun's name

& Here's a full list of holsters that Safariland makes for the gun, if you click one, put in right/left handed, the colour and material you want, etc it will give you a part number, which you can google and find places who sell it...

Safariland has a few retention holsters in your price range. I have a 6378 model that is pretty good for the price.

Have you looked at iTac holsters? They're great when you don't have to worry about concealment.

I like this cam, it's not high def but it's good for this situation.

I've tried a few -- but I like this one a friend gave me: http://smile.amazon.com/dp/B004WB6K02

He means a M12 holster like this:

Bianchi M12 Comercial Holster Hip Pistol (Green) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000AL9CTY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_-6ZXzbXDF8PZS

Say, instead of the g-code, do you know anything about the SERPA version?

It's not quite as quick to modify, but I think they have a "low ride" option that I was hoping may work. Like this.

I throw a bag over my gun when I goto HEB.
http://www.amazon.com/Kalevel-Backpack-Crossbody-Shoulder-Messenger/dp/B00PAPRUBC?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

That one specifically, you cut a slit in the back and slip it over the holster. It also folds up really nice into a back pocket when not needed.
I don't worry about my spare magazines as they are not a firearm and do not need to be covered up when a 30.07 sign is posted.
Never had a single problem for the past 4 months I've shopped there.
