I can't speak about the 950 XL camera specifically, but in general those cameras are wired and only really designed to work with the original hardware. There's no universal connector for that stuff because it was designed to fit into exactly one slot.

You're better off selling it as an OEM part on eBay or chucking it, because if you're looking for a webcam, there are WAY better options for cheap or nearly free. For example, you can hook up a NoIR camera to a Pi0W for under $40 everything included to give you a customizable night-vision camera that you can hook up to any monitoring software.

tl;dr nah. Ain't worth it.

I won't lie... Cheap Amazon Prime accessible tape.
The two names are as follows;

2mm Clear Double Sided Strong Adhesive Acrylic Tape For Phone LCD Screen Repair https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019OQ4Z10?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Eco-Fused Adhesive Sticker Tape for Use in Cell Phone Repair - 2mm Tape - also including 1 Pair of Tweezers / Eco-Fused Microfiber Cleaning Cloth (black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BXYWXY8?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

I know they're cheap, but how much should I spend/what should I search for when I purchase? Computers are my hobby, but I work in kitchens and bake bread full time... Soooo, I'm pretty good with my hands. Application is not the issue here.

You can get a special HDMI cable for the S4
It'll function as the screen.
The digitizer on your phone will still control what you see.

I use this stuff and clean the part with a toothbrush and alcohol after soldering:

IMO You can never have too much flux, but its very common for people to not use enough.

Might have all the info you need from other comments but here is this just in case:

For an iPhone 7 you can buy a screen replacement kit for around 25 USD.

Here is a link to one

As for a professional repair you are looking at around 80 USD (this varies from place to place)
