My favorite book would have to be Ready Player One :)
This book is so exciting, as it's about a video game virtual reality 30 years in the future. The creator of the world was single and had no kids, but he was also the richest man on the planet. Since there was no fair way to distribute his money, his will was a contest.

"Three secret keys open three hidden gates,
wherein the errant will be tested for worthy traits.
And if they have the skill to survive these straits,
they will reach the end where the prize awaits."

Halliday(The creator of the game) left this only clue to the world to try to gain his power and money. Six years passed before anyone finally figured out the first clue.

This book touches every gamer's nostalgia and you will want this game as soon as you finish the book. It makes you feel good to be a gamer. :)

If you want some interesting jazz that is not your typical run-of-the-mill stuff, I would recommend an album called "Both Sides Now" - it's a little gem that hardly gets any attention. It's by Carli Muñoz (pianist) and Eddie Gomez (double bassist) and I would describe the music as traditional jazz infused with latin hip hop. I have owned this album for many years and never tire of listening to it.

You seem eclectic in your music tastes so I'll recommend two more.

I enjoy listening to Sade and recently picked up her Lovers Live album. Very impressed with both the audio recording quality on the CD and the vocals. She is hard to describe. Soul, R&B, blues, jazz all mixed into one.

My final recommendation is anything done by the Flobots.
Progressive rock band out of Colorado. They've got a funky rhythm and I love the messages in their music. Their first album (Fight With Tools) is perhaps my favorite.

Thanks for setting up the giveaway. Enjoy the music!

It is a very awesome of you to gift these games to one lucky redditor. I have never played the Alien Breed games so I would appreciate it if you would consider picking me. I don't have room in my budget for any new games right now so I would definitely play them.

I would like to share my favorite sci-fi novel with reddit. Zig Zag by Jose Carlos Somoza. I don't want to spoil it if anyone does decide to read it but it is a sci-fi horror/thriller/mystery novel about time travel. It is an amazing book and I do not think it is very well known.

Haha thanks for the praise. It's amazing what great music you can find if you're willing to dig for it. I'd completely reccomend the rest of that album Be the Void, as well as songs off their earlier album, Easy Beat :p

OP recently sent me Gobblet, and it's already become one of my favorite 1v1 board games. The objective is to simply line up 4 of your pieces in a row on a 4x4 grid. However, a unique twist is that larger pieces can "gobble" up smaller pieces, similar to Russian nesting dolls. (Shout out to "Stacking"!) This mechanism adds a memory element. Each player starts with 3 sets of 4 nested pieces. On a player's turn, he/she can place one of the exposed pieces from any of their sets onto an empty space, they can move one of their pieces that is already on the board to an empty space, or they can "steal" a space that the other player occupies--provided that their piece is large enough to engulf the other player's piece. Now if a player moves a piece that has already engulfed another piece, the previously played piece is back "in play." Trying to keep track of a constantly changing board of gobbled pieces will really keep you on your toes as the game progresses. And there's more strategy than you might think in deciding when to use various sized pieces in order to maximize your options and limit your opponent's. It's not a brain-burner like chess, but it's not nearly as simplistic as tic-tac-toe. It's easy to learn, challenging to play, and incredibly addictive. Even if abstract strategy games aren't your cup of tea, you might be surprised at how much fun you can have with this game. :)

This game looks awesome! In the case of a zombie apocalypse I would grab my copy of the trusty Worst Case Scenario Book! From improvising weapons to living off the land, perfect for anyone running from hordes of zombies.

Thanks for the PiF!

Favorite!...thats too damn hard, but I recently did get finished reading The Extinction Journals, which was hoot and a half and an easy read - read a few reviews and if you find it in the bargain bin I guarantee you will enjoy your afternoon with it.

I was told I wasn't approved to comment??? so I'm resubmitting, sorry if you can see the other one.

The lego board games are surprisingly good for a seeming money grab. I suggest Minotaurus. the hours and my brother and I have put into that game is incredible. a nice bonus is that you can change some rules and the map. I also realized you don't even have to buy it if you have the pieces.

http://www.amazon.com/LEGO-4568196-Minotaurus-Game/dp/B002WCNKUQ (you cant buy it on the lego store, and its beng retired soon so buy it fast if you do.)

There is a book, called The Flight of Dragons which postulates a way in which dragons could have evolved, explaining many of the myths associated with them.

Essentially, they were gigantic gas bags, filled with hydrogen. They produced a potent acid which ate away at a calcium-rich structure in their bodies (which they replenished when they fed) to produce hydrogen. This gave them flight, and powered their firey breath.

It's well worth a read.

This, however, is always well worth a watch/listen.

Finally, I'd just like to point out that I've never played Skyrim, so I have no good dragon stories from there :(

The Inhumans

It's a dark, medieval-esque one-shot story about a world of beings who go through an awakening at a certain age that gives them powers from the mundane to world-shattering. I don't know what I can say about the story without ruining it, but it is absolutely not the typical "I can punch harder than you" type of super-hero junk. The characters are all very unique and their personalities clash in a number of ways throughout the novel. It's so good I was honestly saddened when I discovered it wasn't a series, but I suppose that what allows the authors to script such a dynamic world.

Tokyo Days, Bangkok Nights
http://www.amazon.com/Vertigo-Pop-Tokyo-Bangkok-Nights/dp/1401221890

> Visit two exotic locales in this new, globetrotting graphic novel from Vertigo

> First, in a tale set in Tokyo, a lone American armed on a quest for high-tech gadgets is swept into a different side of the city by a Japanese high-school girl. Along the way, traditional Japanese values of honor and harmony collide with a young girl's wild ride to the top of the pop charts, with the Yakuza in hot pursuit.

> Then, a vacationing couple heads to Bangkok hoping to heal their disintegrating relationship - but instead become embroiled in an international sex scandal that involves kickboxing tournaments, stray elephants and a misguided quest to save two young girls from a life of crime.

I need to sit down and go thru my comics there's a ton but this is a newer one that I read and it was enjoyable.

Super Meat Boy

my profile

I have not read any books since college, even then it was all that literary nonsense that doesn't sick in :(. It's not my fault I can't understand it, the damn thing was written a hundred years ago! The Book was El Filibusterismo, you can probably tell that it's in Spanish and I don't read a lick of spanish. Even the translated version was boring as fuck.

manliest picture? well I can say the truck tree house guys looks bad ass, he doesn't even fucking care there's a truck stuck on a tree behind him. Or perhaps that korean farmer that was being hosed down and he just stands there staring the riot police with disgust (but I can't find the image) so I'm settling for the close second, Vladimir Putin. Fuck, any pic of him is bad ass

edit

found water canon guy, still going with Putin though...
