The DVDs are pretty widely available, all things considered, so the best bet is to watch for sales on Amazon/direct from Shout Factory. As far as I know, Shout isn't losing the license anytime soon so there isn't a real rush unless you simply want to watch them.

Toys wise, there's a couple different routes to go depending on what kind of collector you want to be. This is going to be a bit lengthy:

The Retro Collector - If you want the original toys, the market is pretty interesting these days due to all the nostalgia and renewed interest from the comics, etc. Finding and restoring old toys, especially the zords, can be a lot of fun thanks to the efforts of the fan community in providing replacement die cast parts and new, more show accurate stickers. Be aware that prices have started to trend up due to the interest and the limited supply - there's only so many toys from the 1990s that survived in good enough shape to sell, after all. Flea markets are a great choice here, along with eBay and the like.

The Modern Collector - If you don't have your heart set on the originals, you've picked a pretty great time to jump in. Some of the most popular of Bandai of America's Legacy line were restocked due to Hasbro taking over the license, so this is just about the best time for you to jump on a bunch of the zords before they disappear, as there's been no real announcements about Hasbro's plans for zords yet. Legacy Dragonzord, Tigerzord, Falconzord, Thunder Megazord, and Ninja Megazord are all pretty readily available at multiple retailers (Amazon, Gamestop, various online specialty shops, etc), but they won't be around forever. This is the last of the stock, and certain zords like the Ninja Megazord are already starting to go out of stock with some retailers. Unfortunately, Legacy Megazord and Legacy Titanus were not part of that restock and have had absurdly high resell value for a while now.

There's also fan favorites like the Legacy Morphers that received a restock too. The new stock on these has been nearly depleted already and their resell prices are ticking back up - fans love these due to how easily they're customized, everything from fan made coins to new die cast plates and customized stickers are available. Along with the morphers, Bandai restocked the well loved Legacy Dragon Dagger and Legacy Saba. Legacy Gold Power Staff and Legacy Zeonizer are also easily found at discounted prices these days. The only things that didn't really get a restock are the Legacy Communicators and Legacy Power Sword, which was a victim of Toys R Us' demise.

In terms of action figures, you've hit the sweet spot where Hasbro has the first wave of their new line out and we're gearing up for the second wave. While Bandai did restock a lot of their action figures too, they're less loved compared to the zords/props. I'd recommend getting caught up on Hasbro's Lightning Collection and go forward with those, if you're interested in figures. Right now you can buy all but one of the first wave direct from Hasbro and pre-order an upcoming exclusive at Gamestop, with wave 2's official announcement expected soon. Unfortunately, barring Hasbro restocking him, Lord Zedd is in the hands of resellers now due to his low production numbers and popularity.

The High End Collector - While there's certainly cross over with the Modern Collector, if you want the best version of some of these releases the only option in a lot of cases is to go with the specialty Japanese imports. From Soul of Chogokin and Mini-Pla for zords to Figuarts for figures, these tend to be better designed with better paint, but have a much higher price than you might be used to. The objectively best version of MMPR's Megazord is the SoC release, which goes for almost $300.

High end lines are expensive and it's not a decision to make lightly. Collecting a SoC Megazord, Dragonzord, and Titanus for a full Ultrazord transformation display option would cost over $660 at Amazon's current prices. It's a lot of money for three toys, and the future of the line may be even more expensive as domestic retailers will no longer be able to sell them directly due to Hasbro's new ownership of the IP.

Regarding the SoC I live in the UK but have family in Canada. Tried to ship it to Canada thinking it would save me some compared to the UK. I bought it recently from CDJapan for $435 CDN shipped but still got hit with $50 CDN of taxes despite using a shipping service (EMS SAL) that took 3 months---and from what I read would save me from taxes. It did not.

So that's about £287 compared to your £314 (equivalent to $400 usd). For the £27 difference, my feeling is that you might as well go with Amazon and have the peace of mind of knowing exactly how much you'll pay plus the fast service. It's really the unknown costs that will drive you up the wall. For direct shipping to the UK I think you have to assume that you'll always get hit by VAT and so Amazon is still better.

I also see Ebay links with free international economy from the Phillippines. For $320 USD = £250, then a 20% VAT charge plus an unknown duty charge, it'll still be around the £300 mark.

Honestly, the best deal seems to be to just go with Amazon.com where it's currently estimated at $376 USD or around £295 GBP.

I travel to the US about once a year, but I didn't want to risk the GX-72 being completely sold out. As tough as people complain about medical care and other things in the US, the truth is that you save big on taxes.

Required watching:

Power Rangers

Time Force, SPD, Mystic Force

Super Sentai

Dekaranger, Magiranger, Shinkenger, Go-Busters, and Kyoryuger.

As for skipping, I can't really think of anything at the current moment, but I'm sure if you were to give me a few days, I could easily find a few series to skip over.

Sentai? I'm a toku nut, and the 'fan boy' inside of me would tell you to skip over the current PR product (because the acting is terribad, and Saban merged series in Megaforce and Super Megaforce) (Goseiger was Megaforce, and Gokaiger was Super Megaforce), but I'm not here to cause problems.

As for picking up subtitled versions, the only one that is getting a DVD release RIGHT NOW would be Zyuranger, which we faithfully know as MMPR Season 1. Everything else you'll have to look towards fansub groups like Over-Time, TV-N, G.U.I.S. and other groups. I would be suggesting KRDL as a start to finding out which groups did what series, but sadly it seems as though the servers are no longer online, so you'll need to do a bit of hunting on your own.

Hopefully this gives you a good start. Also, I would suggest Gokaiger and Goseiger IF you want to fill in the plot lines that Megaforce and Super Megaforce left out.

I'm not particularly qualified to say which of the middle seasons you should and shouldn't watch, but the run from Mighty Morphin' through In Space is a classic. You could probably pick up at the start of In Space without much trouble, to be honest. From there, Time Force and RPM have probably the best reputations, but it depends on taste - there's any number of "best season" threads you could check out here for more in-depth responses.

Sentai does have a generally better reputation - there are better and worse seasons, but for the most part it's just easier to make a good show when you're making it all from scratch than when you're retro-fitting half of it around existing footage, you know? There's no US subbed releases of it on DVD/Blu-Ray^note , although it's possible that Japanese releases have English subs - someone else would have to confirm that.

^note Zyuranger - which became the first season of Mighty Morphin' - is getting a complete series release in February.

Awesome! Your very welcome. I hope you enjoy it. It’s one of my favorite pulls. They do have the collected trades available. I would check with your LCS since it seems they deal in trades. Here’s a link on amazon for the first volume .

It’s called Power Rangers Funniest Moments part of Power Rangers Power Playback, and it was a one time aired special on Fox Kids that aired on May 13th, 1998!

It’s available on the 2nd DVD Box Set that Shout! Factory put out the Power Rangers Seasons 4-7 DVD Box Set that has Power Rangers Zeo to Power Rangers Lost Galaxy! The Special is on the Bonus Disc!

Link to the DVD Box Set is below.

It depends on the store and what they have.

So in terms of starting, it will be easier and cheaper to get the trades:
(linking amazon so you know what to ask for and in case they don't have it at the local shop)

I agree about the OG being outdated, but it's still pretty kick-ass. However, after everything that's been released for the movie so far, I knew the new Megazord would be completely different. I'm excited to get a new version of it. If people still want the OG, Amazon has the Soul of Chogokin one on pre-order: https://www.amazon.com/Bandai-Tamashii-Nations-Chogokin-Morphing/dp/B01LZNJOUJ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478443622&sr=8-1&keywords=soul+of+chogokin+megazord

I've bought two or three Power Ranger hoodies. Two out of three times they were super cheap. The best quality one was from here, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008VVEG32/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1

u/Josh_a_J · 1 pointr/powerrangers

Here you go, Amazon is your best friend: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B008VVEG32/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1408236226&sr=8-1&pi=SX200_QL40

Don't know where to find a white ranger hoodie though.

u/NejiHyuga900 · 7 pointsr/powerrangers

While they would be expensive, you can buy each Power Rangers collection on DVD from Amazon:

u/Elranzer · 3 pointsr/powerrangers

For those interested:

https://www.amazon.com/Bandai-Tamashii-Nations-Chogokin-Morphing/dp/B01LZNJOUJ/ (non-affiliate link)

When it's back in stock (as in, not being scalped), Amazon sells it for $299 and free (Prime-eligible) shipping.

u/-Ausar- · 1 pointr/powerrangers

You’re looking at the American listing, the Amazon UK listing went down to $48 usd, but now is currently unavailable: this is the Amazon UK listing https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07L34HVDF/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1 mine shipped Saturday should be here this week as well

u/LowBrowOrbit · 2 pointsr/powerrangers

The White Ranger and Green Ranger were both regular members of the team after they joined (although they weren't part of the primary five). The only one I recall who sometimes showed up to help was the Gold Ranger during the Zeo Ranger years.

u/themoderngafa · 5 pointsr/powerrangers

While we're all on Amazon, Super Task Force One is actually worth watching.

u/OSUTechie · 1 pointr/powerrangers

Looks like they are the posterbook collection since they are OG.

Otherwise they maybe /u/CarlosZ8 prints.

u/megas88 · 5 pointsr/powerrangers

Before you go pirating might I suggest buying the trade off of amazon? It saves you a few bucks and you get the first few issues collected in a single volume.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Vol. 1 https://www.amazon.com/dp/1608868931/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_uuyxybNG9CFD9

u/NineWalkers · 2 pointsr/powerrangers

Ah ok. As the other post suggested they'll be plenty of Beast Morphers toys to choose from. I'd also look into Bandai Legacy figures. Some may be more expensive because that line is not made anymore but most seem to be around the $20 range on amazon https://www.amazon.com/Power-Rangers-Legacy-6-5-Inch-Morphin/dp/B01H04O9WS

I also still see them in stores like Gamestop so they aren't too hard to find. These aren't as "fancy" as the Lightning Collection and can prob take more of a beating.

u/schwasound · 2 pointsr/powerrangers

Is this the right trade paper back I should buy if I want to read Shattered Grid? The description says it collects Mighty Morphin Power Rangers #25-30, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Free Comic Book Day Special, and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Shattered Grid #1.

u/spikey666 · 7 pointsr/powerrangers

This book has is all in one volume.

u/Zor_El_XB1 · 2 pointsr/powerrangers

u/CoolmanCjt · 1 pointr/powerrangers

The paperback or the hardcover? I actually ordered both:

Is this the whole Shattered Grid story in one volume?

u/Wendigo15 · 2 pointsr/powerrangers

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Shattered Grid Deluxe Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/1684153433/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_S4NPCbVHRMR9H

There's this coming out later this year

u/WAxlRoseX · 3 pointsr/powerrangers

I'm about to buy the rest of what I need to read this series, it's been on my list for a while!

I own the MMPR Vol 1, and I've gathered that in order to lead up to Shattered Grid, I'll need to read up to MMPR Vol 6 (goes to #24).

But I saw this on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/Mighty-Morphin-Power-Rangers-Shattered/dp/1684153433/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=mmpr+comic&qid=1570310924&s=books&sr=1-3

Do we know what this will contain yet? If this has everything needed for Shattered Grid, I'll just hold off a bit more and get this. If it starts with #25 I'll probably still get it and get Vol 2 - Vol 6 (I already own 1) Then I can continue to catch up to Necessary Evil
