1. Volunteer with a political campaign to elect pro-choice representatives! Unless you live in a pro-choice paradise (hey, there are a few), there's likely a district somewhere that needs to be flipped (even if you have to drive a few counties away). In this last election, my shy self canvassed door-to-door with Planned Parenthood to successfully flip our Congressional district form Republican and anti-abortion to Democratic and pro-choice, and had a lot of people come in from out-of-town to do the same, since their pro-choice reps were in no danger of being unseated.
   
   
2. Volunteer at your local abortion clinic, if you can (escorting is the most well-known, but really, just asking them about what different ways you can help should get you some answers!). And don't forget that sometimes, especially for a well-funded clinic, what they might need most is a staff party, or a delivery of morning muffins with a thank-you card, or artwork for the walls, or some flowers. Helping women obtain abortions is important work, but so is helping providers avoid burnout and feel appreciated and valued.
   
   
3. Share pro-choice media and information. Every little bit helps- if you're helping to make your social circle more aware of your stance and what's going on in the war on reproductive rights (and encourage them to do the same to their social circle), all the better.
   
   
4. Even if you are in a pro-choice paradise, you probably still have a local CPC. Expose them!
   
   
5. Join a pro-choice organization! You can train to be a part of Exhale Pro Voice's support line- you can do that from anywhere! And most states have an abortion fund that could probably really use whatever help you have to offer.
   
   
6. Message your state legislators. Calling and writing letters are the best way to get their attention- if there's anybody who represents you as a constituent and is either anti-choice or has a mixed record, let them know what you, as a voter and a taxpayer, prioritize and hold dear. You might get a gross form letter back, but making yourself heard in this manner is important.
   
   
7. Have tough conversations with people close to you. The Abortion Funds Network has some great tips. This is probably the hardest one, but also one of the ones that can end up having a lot of impact.
   
   
8. Fundraise! Donating can drain your wallet and feel small and private; fundraising is the opposite! Leverage the power you have to get other people to support your cause, be it a bake sale or talent show, or so on.
   
   
9. Request that your local library carry new and popular pro-choice books, and, if you can, ask them to consider showcasing them (might not be successful, given that it's a bit controversial, but no harm in asking!).
   
   
10. Write in letters to the editor for your local paper.
    
    
11. Make sure that your local pharmacies prominently display on the shelves and keep in stock emergency contraception, and complain to the manager if they don't.
    
    
12. Get some stickers and posters and slap 'em on telephone poles and around town. Put a bumper sticker on, or a poster in your window! Let people know that we're out here and not going away.
    
    
13. Check to make sure your doctors support choice and are willing to refer out for abortion services; if they aren't and you have the ability, leave as a patient as a way to make clear that comprehensive care is something you prioritize.
    
    
14. Investigate how your local schools handle sex education, and, if they're not doing it well (and many aren't), it's time to go represent at local school board meetings!
    
    
15. Read Robin Marty's Handbook for a Post-Roe America Paperback, and really anything else on the topic. The more educated you are, the better.

What’s CPC?

There is a really fabulous book that I picked up several years ago. Just pulled it off the shelf, because - as a 35 year old woman who lives in GA - I apparently need to brush up on what things were like 'before.'

No not all contraception. Just "contraception" which inhibits the implantation of a fertilized embryo. Contraception which inhibits the joining of sperm and egg is allowed.
