Thought I'd contribute something early on, as I think it's a very useful book: A Mathematician Plays the Stock Market. It's an easy read (with some proofs, equations, etc.) and explains different aspects of the market both from a mathematical and historical perspective. I haven't yet read *A Random Walk" but Paulos discusses it often, as well as the more recent "A Non-Random Walk." Essentially, he dispels a lot of market mythology and instills a healthy skepticism in its place. To be sure, he does mention which strategies and funds seem to have merit (based peer-reviewed meta-analysis.)

Started investing about a year ago November, so pretty much a noob. Did computer engineering for my undergrad and just graduated last July. Now working as a software engineer.

Right now, I'm reading this book: Long-Term-Secrets-Short-Term-Trading

I tend to favor the technical analysis side of investing.

The Battle For Investment Survival. Although some material is mildly outdated, the book provides basic principles that every investor should understand.
