As for polishes I'd like Essie A Cut Above or China Glaze Ruby Pumps, both US shipping because my dad is on business trips there a lot and said I can ship stuff to him and he'll bring it over when he comes back.
Awesome! Depending on your budget, I'd look into indie polishes for her - there are a ton of different brands on Etsy and their own sites, and they tend to have more unique polishes than the mainstream brands. For example, KBShimmer is a popular indie with lots of fun color combinations and consistently good polishes. They generally ship very quickly, too.
As far as nail art goes, I know there are some books out there, but I've never owned one, so I can't point you in a direction for that. However, some basic tools are useful if she doesn't have them - such as dotting tools or nail art brushes. There are a ton of different sellers on Amazon for these; most of them are coming from China or Hong Kong and will take a month to get to the US, but if you dig through the alternate sellers, you can usually find a US seller or two.
Some nail decorations such as studs or rhinestones could be fun, too. Same China/Hong Kong shipping warning for these, too.
Otherwise, maybe stamping would be something she'd be interested in. Stamping is the process of painting nail polish on an engraved plate, scraping off the excess, and then picking it up off of the plate and applying it to the nail with a rubber stamper. This is a popular starting stamper, and there are a TON of plates out there, and they can vary in quality. This is the set that I started off with, and I've been pleased with them. There's a brand called "Moyou London" that's very high quality and creative plates, but they also cost more, of course - they can be found on Amazon and on their own site. There are some special "stamping" polishes out there, but any thick polish will work well - the brand Sally Hansen Insta Dri (available in basically any drugstore/Walmart/Target/etc) are often recommended.
Creative Fantasy is $4.58, Sunday Funday is $4.68, Surreal Appeal is $5, and Whirled Away is $5.12.
Now for why I think these are awesome. Creative Fantasy is an amazing purple. And I looooooooove anything and everything purple. It's kinda neon, but not quite, which is perfect for me and my love hate relationship with neons haha. Sunday Funday is an amazing looking blue. I hate blue polish, but I still want this! It's so bright! I mostly want Surreal Appeal because I have a grand total of 0 corals. I have like 2 pinks and a neon orange so I can't even make my own coral if I wanted to. I want to try Whirled Away because I have never tried a bar glitter before, and I know some people love them but others hate them. I also only have silver glitter polishes so this would be a nice change :)

Creative Fantasy by Chinaglaze is something that I would like from my WL! :D Thanks for holding this
Hello! First of all, welcome. We have another wonderful trans girl, /u/Sweet_Baby_Ashley, hopefully you two can connect and become friends!
I have a few suggestions for you. First of all, practise makes perfect! So with things like brushing off the excess on the inside of the bottle, you just need to keep working in it. Some polishes are goopier or don't work well - make sure you aren't buying the cheapest stuff you can find, because formula might be a big part of your problem!
This might also be why you are having issues with it drying between coats. Although, I will say, there is a certain pressure - or lack of- that has to be used to apply polish back over pre-applied layers. I still have issues with it catching sometimes and I have a nail blog, so once again, practice!
Fast drying top coat. Without my seche vite, I would be lost! Out the door works well also, but there are a bunch on the market to choose from. If you do use something like seche, "wrapping the tips" will help with tip wear and shrinking. That just means applying the top coat to the tips of your nails as well as the top.
Here is a video I found on how to apply- but if you look on youtube there are hundreds of tutorials, so don't feel bad! People do need help learning. I got my cosmetology license a few years ago, so that's when I learned.
I hope this helped even a little. Looking forward to seeing you around!

China Glaze Kalahari Kiss is like nothing I own... and only $4.49 ish after shipping.
I think [these] (http://www.amazon.com/MASH-Rhinestones-Nailart-Manicure-Wheels/dp/B005BF1M10/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=QQEPMN5YQAW1&coliid=I1ZTPKE1YG4W6R) would add some serios bling to my manis-> making them FABULOUS! LOL. It's $1.52 with shipping. Maybe then you could polish 2 people.
But if I had to pick a polish it would be [Flip Flop Fantasy] (http://www.amazon.com/China-Glaze-Poolside-FANTASY-Lacquer/dp/B0085YK77O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=QQEPMN5YQAW1&coliid=IZ5DBG7I8Z9LJ) I saw it at Sallys- should have just gone for it then- but I was there for Turned Up Turquoise - Which I love! I think it would be a great summer color & I swim a lot so I gotta have my toesies looking fancy!
Thanks for a fun, flash contest!
Hope your day at work is going well. It is the beginning of vacation season so we have a few people out and it's craziness.

Alright 10 things about me:
My favorite polish of all time is Rimmel 877 Mania. Not my swatch. I need to get some nail polish thinner and bring this one back to life!
My favorite color is green....or even better teal!
I'm a grad student.
I'm 26.
I have two kitties, Clyde and Oliver. They pretty much hated each other for a year, but they're finally starting to get along. I even catch them Almost touching during nap times.
I love swimming.
In addition to polish, I have a growing collection of soap. Weird right?
My favorite tv shows are Firefly, Warehouse 13, the Big Bang Theory, Castle, and The Vampire Diaries.
I've been on a vampire book binge lately, but I also love sci-fi/fantasy and mystery. I can't wait to find out how A Song of Ice and Fire ends. Seriously, I want to know now.
I'm impatient.
CG It's a Trap-eze! from my wishlist.
CG I'm Not Bitter
Orly Sparkling Gargabe
Llarowe Good Fortune
Essie Trophy Wife
Welcome!!! I love baking too! This is an awesome idea for a contest, what are your answers to the questions?
I'm still lemming Sparkling Garbage!
My cousin is coming to stay for the weekend tomorrow! I'm super all kinds of excited because I've hardly seen her all summer since she's a workin' girl now :) Pretty proud of her too!
I could definitely use this base coat, I'm totally out and my manis are chipping so quickly! I haven't used this one yet but Orly has great products so I figure it's gotta be at least ok :-D I'd prefer Orly Bonder but it's a bit over budget so it'll have to wait.
(On this wishlist <3)
Mr. Golden Sun! Okay, this one reminds me of sunshine! I'm not usually a fan of yellow polish but mannnn this one is gorgeous!
Thanks for the contest <3
First, I'm sorry if you're my facebook friend because this has to be the ten millionth time you've seen these pictures.
I stamped black images on my nude nail and then applied 2 coats of Ninja Polish Mystic Glacier (a gift from my BFF JennieNinja).
The unicorn is from Mash-39, the swirls are from Cheeky's Musical Nails plate.
Ten things about me? Alright.
-I was on my high school debate team
-I am a huge fan of comic books
-My favorite childhood book is A Little Princess
-I have never dyed my hair before
-I'm fairly tall, 5"9.
-my favorite color is green
-I despise the color of my room. It's a really funky lavender with glitter in it but I'm too poor to repaint it.
Annnnd here is the polish that is under five dollars. It's so nice and I am wanting it so bad but I'm on a nobuy D:
Nitwit! Blubber! Oddment! Tweak!
Keepin' It Teal and Isle See You Later are both until $5 including shipping.
I'm headed home late tomorrow night for the boyfriend's mom 50th birthday party. And I'm planning a huge order of Asian beauty products!
Oh hey! Followed your train on over here and found a whole nother polish subreddit! Yay! I would love some striping tape. I'm a girl of simple wants. Or a light blue polish.
Thank you so much, darling! You are a doll.
Edit: My story because I forgot to include it. It's not going on right now, but it is funny so I will tell it anyways: One day a few years ago, my family was taking a trip a few hours away to see some civil war thing, because my dad lived in Georgia at the time. So my two sisters, dad, step mom and I hopped in the car, and right before we got there, we stopped at wendy's and I got a kids meal with chicken nuggets and barbeque sauce. Well, I spilled the sauce on the floor of the car, and for the rest of the trip the whole car smelled like food and my dad was never able to get the stain out of the upholstery.
I LOVE YOU AND THE FLASH CONTEST AND CAP LOCKS!
In my life currently.... I just finally got season two of GoT, now I just need the time to watch it! This weekend I think I am taking a trip to Pa but maybe I can find time there to get some good tv watching time in! :p
Nail tape! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0069FDR96?

I vented in your other contest. So...happy things. I will be doing my nails tomorrow! FINALLY! I can't do them when my BF is home because of his asthma. But an advantage of his absense...all the nail arts I want!
