Most of us here are likely more weekly travelers, not long term travelers like it sounds like you are. That said, get one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Monster-Outlets-Go-USB/dp/B008MF40F6/ref=sr_1_7?ie=UTF8&qid=1523587350&sr=8-7&keywords=Monster+power

Both outlets full at an airport? Ask nice and both folks will plug into your splitter and now you have three with room for you, plus two USB. It also works at 220V for international travel.

Find a good battery recharger also. Doesn’t need to be solar.

If you’re worried about monitors, why not grab a pocket/mini sized projector and just project against the hotel wall? They’re not expensive.

I picked up a bubm organizer on Amazon for about $10. It smelled bad for a couple days, so air it out, but I like how it organization ides my cables. I also like how I can throw stuff in and sort it later in a hurry.

For sure this one!! 3M Gold Privacy Filter for 14" Widescreen Laptop (GF140W9B) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B002RL8J8U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MyI0BbWFERKE0

It doesn’t look gold straight on but VERY much so from sides (airplane seat distance even)

That sound kind of similar to my setup - 13" MBP, 12.9" iPad Pro, Bose over-ear noise headphones, Beats bluetooth headphones. I also carry a USB power pack for emergencies. I travel with https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MSTG93S which works to charge all of them, and has overseas adapters. I carry all of that in a bag very similar to this https://www.amazon.com/Case-Logic-Berkeley-15-6-Inch-BPCA-215/dp/B00CCJGIB2 (along with all sorts of emergency stuff - first aid kit, paracord, flashlight, etc). Fits great on flights and I'm able to charge everything overnight.

Is that what you're looking for?

I have yet to find the perfect backpack. My old one had too many sections so it never fit anything right. Now I have a 5.11 bag which is very roomy on the inside and has a great outer pocket sectioning, but it doesn't have a laptop slot which makes it a pain going through security.

Tech toys:

I've minimized my cableage down to:

  • Transforming plug cable (does UK, Euro, US, Aussie)
  • Inline 3-port power strip
  • 4-port USB adapter (2 ports Apple standard, 2 ports Android standard) that does 4A so I can charge iPad+Phone+Etc at the same time.
  • I use this cable for my laptop as well so I don't have to carry a separate cable for that

  • Since the iPhone has terrible battery life when you're traveling in areas with poor reception, when you're using it as a camera all day or flying for 26 hours and listening to music, I carry a spare battery - this sucker can recharge the iPhone 2 and a half times.
  • To avoid USB cable tangles and reduce space, I grabbed a handful of retractable microUSB cables in a Hong Kong market. They they break easier, but are cheaply replaceable. For the iPhone/iPad I use the microUSB adapters instead of getting a special cable for it.

I love music, so I couldn't travel without headphones. I'm also clumsy as fuck, so I prefer Bluetooth headphones.

Enter, these magic earbuds: http://www.audio-technica.co.jp/atj/show_model.php?modelId=382 ( Amazon )

  • Bluetooth stereo
  • Really good noise-cancelling if you get a good fit with the buds.
  • Internal Li-ion battery, charges via standard MicroUSB. 8 hours bluetooth, 60 hours noise-cancelling
  • You can plug in a cable in the bottom to override and use as regular headphones if the battery is dead/your device doesn't do Bluetooth.

    Tiny Wi-Fi router: http://farm7.staticflickr.com/6162/6195138554_964745bd4b_z.jpg

I got this Wi-Fi router in Japan. It's smaller than a credit card and is powered off of regular MicroUSB. Hotel WiFi sucks ass, and in Japan a lot of cheap hotels only have a LAN cable and no Wifi. This router takes no space at all. I've even used it in an airport lounge when I wanted to use my 1 hour wifi voucher with multiple devices at once.

I think you're talking about a small power inverter.

Probably not that one though. It looks cheap.
