I am so sorry you are going through this. I highly recommend you read the book I'm Not Sick, I Don't Need Help by Dr. Amador. His brother had SAD. Excellent book. I also suggest getting involved in NAMI if you are lucky enough to have a chapter in your area. You are in for a hard lonely battle. Be sure to take care of yourself first, then your partner (if you are lucky enough to have one). Only with those two pieces in place can you hope to take care of your son. Feel free to PM if you have questions. I wish you the best.

Some books that may help: Surviving Schizophrenia, The Complete Family Guide to Schizophrenia, and, if needed, I Am Not Sick, I Don't Need Help. They can be found on Amazon.

Don't try to talk him out of his hallucinations or delusions. Only a professional should attempt it. You don't have to indulge his delusions either. You can just empathize. "That sounds very stressful." "I'm sorry you're going through that." Good luck.

Edit: As a family member, you may find this forum to be more helpful: https://family.schizophrenia.com/
I'm glad you are taking charge with your medications. I really hope the shot helps. Are you in any kind of therapy or counseling co-coinciding? I think that could help you too. I really believe in being able to change your though patters and break old habits and make new ones. I know this is a simplified explanation of what is going on with you but maybe this book could benefit you in some way in terms of how you might be thinking about things and viewing them. Ignore the business part of the book, just focus on the life part.
This might help & I use this whenever I'm on my computer I hope these help.
Surviving Schizophrenia
Edit: sorry posted before I’d read about the addiction part. Should still be helpful though.

Maybe it will be of use for you..
It looks sort of like this
I took it to work and just sat it on my desk. I work in a cubicle, so it didn’t really bother anyone
