Yeah but I already have something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/Tupperware-801-Round-Cake-Taker/dp/B00005S6IR

Mine even has a plastic insert with handles on the sides for easy cake removal. Works great.

Advantage of this that I can see is the gripping bits in the side but they seem a bit over the top. Also I'm not seeing a cover and that seems like a thing I would require for any cake transporting needs.

Has anyone read the excerpt available on Amazon? I don't think it's anything special, but I don't know a lot about writing.

I think this is one of the most reasonable Kickstarters I've seen in this subreddit. If the book is good or at least mediocre (the concept looks like it can appeal to at least some people), the author will probably get some fans that would really like the fairly priced rewards. I just think it would've made more sense for him to wait for the e-book to become more popular, and then start a campaign (if necessary) to make printed editions of it.
Edit: Typo

I applaud everyone in this sub for how they're responding to this guys continued uploads. We are all well aware that he has some developmental issues and needs actual help.

The book he's written is already available on Amazon, I'm nearly curious enough to buy one.

Edit: Looks like he uploaded his Amazon proof to Facebook, enjoy the read!

If you give $10 at kickstarter he will ship it in December.

But the same guy has the same exact calendar on amazon, pre-order to ship in July, for $8.37.

Weird.

Here's the back of the calendar. Wow. Quality stuff here, guys!

Oh man that's huge. Do I have room on my wall for that.

I'm pretty sure we already have a modern translation of the Bible, and it's a fucking graphic novel.

Woof yeah, looks like they might be doing an OEM thing: here or here - the product that Jooyon has is called the "V15FPG" but I'm sure there are others out there that look nearly identical.

Just doing a google search with the specification from Vinpok and Joyoon leads to many results. Here are versions of it for sale on Ebay here or here (brand G-Story model GS156WT). Here it is on Amazon (VIOTEK LinQ).

I wonder if IndieGoGo / KickStarter have policies against reselling products and using KS / IG to fund them. Not really financing a project if all the campaign is doing is rebranding and reselling? Seems pretty sketch, but at the very least feels dishonest.

>I am also a programmer, well-adjusted to HTML/HTML5 and highly experienced in GML

Making a smartphone's a joke compared to the leet skillz required for writing markup.

Also this.

There's a few hobbyist "build your own jet engine" books (here's one from 1995). I'm sure his $2,500 would buy a few copies!

This nut has already published a 'lottery-winning' book that is for sale on Amazon: Mr. Lotto.

Whoa, his previous Kickstarter campaign is a doozy...

u/elevenjointz · 4 pointsr/shittykickstarters

Someone linked this post from their latest update. I found the link to their product which they are selling on Amazon.

> I said "most of the way" you condescending fuck.

Salty AF

> the Android-isms are directly relevant

We're talking about charging here. The only relevant datapoint about Android phones is they generally have bigger batteries. That is it. Nothing else about them are relevant.

Here's the thing. Even with the expansion module this "keyfob" has all of 2,150mAh for $78. A single-18650-based power bank by a reputable vendor costs just $13. Oh you want more? $78 almost buys you TWO of this.

None of the above has a keychainable Lightning cable, but that costs either $20 by a name brand or $11 for a 6-pack by an off-brand. Either way the total cost still comes in below the $59 asking price for the basic smrtFOB, so how is this project not shitty?

u/WhatImKnownAs · 0 pointsr/shittykickstarters

If you'd done that, you could link to them.

That being said, they're not the only LiPo batteries. Here's one on Amazon, also USB chargeable, slightly cheaper, although I've not compared other specs.

u/currentscurrents · 32 pointsr/shittykickstarters

This appears to be identical to many products on alibaba, including this one: https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Usb-Lithium-Polymer-Batteries-Rechargeable-Micro_62068065749.html

In fact, you can buy these on Amazon, for less money, with free next-day shipping: https://www.amazon.com/Rechargeable-Batteries-Quick-Charge-Integrated-Protection/dp/B07F27PK2M

This kind of shit should be banned. Even in the most generous interpretation possible, this is a group buy not a kickstarter.

Those are 3M Command adhesive strips. They aren't reusable, but they're inexpensive and leave no residue.

I agree that this project isn't so bad. The general idea is non-ridiculous, I don't see a comparable product on the market (though this is somewhat similar), and there's no evidence that the creators have engaged in any sort of wrongdoing.

I'm not sold on the premise that people would want to carry around one of these things in case they need it, but I wouldn't mind having a few in my home. I'd be willing to pay $20 for a three-pack.

Edit: I see that 3M marketed a shelf of its own. It appears to have been discontinued, which suggests a lack of demand. (However, that product didn't fold down.)

Looking at the comments it seems they stiffed many of the backers and the ones that did get the Linux USB have problems and aren't getting any support for it. The company has moved on to making gaming related USB wearables now. This is their latest product:
