I bought these my dude https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MEV79KC?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
These jars are also reusable so that saves cash.
They work well! About 20 days since innoculation and im like 90% colonized. Granted ive been using a seed germination pad to keep the temp up. Downside is there is only one injection port so its colonizing from one side so it probs takes longer. So to compensate i injected like 3 ccs per jar instead of the usual 2. Probs could have done 2 ccs fine. Plus 6 bucks is cheap. I ised a spore syringe i bought from a reputable supplier
One brf cake could produce 3-4 flushes! Plus you could even break it up and put it in new substrate like coco fibers.
Species wise, id say just stay away from P. cyanensis cause it grows mainly on wood and is hard to get to fruit from what i read. Im currently using golden teachers (P. cubensis) for my first grow.
Most peoples problems seem to come from contams during innoculation. The port makes it super easy to not have contamination in my opinion. First grow ive done and i had 0 contam. Molds love to grow in the substrate so if its off white or other colors and grows like super fast 2-3 days for full colonization, its probs contaminated. Just use an alcohol pad to wash the port, i grabbed sterilized surgical gloves and a sterile hypodermic needle (without a filter) from my job so that might have helped. I didnt even flame my needle, though people recommend flaming the needle
Just taking Psilocybin won't really help fix much. You're better off using it in a therapeutic setting intended to help you deal with past issues. It's all about your intentions using it and the set and setting.

I can't recommend Michael Pollans book enough to help you understand how Psilocybin works and the therapy that goes along with it. https://www.amazon.com/Change-Your-Mind-Consciousness-Transcendence/dp/1594204225

Good luck, be safe, and take it slow. You're gonna be just fine.
I'd recommend against a kit because you won't learn a lot but If you do get a kit, get one that comes with jars because they're re-usable.
here's a link that shows how to do pf tek.
I kinda amended the stuff you need below
1/2 pint wide mouth canning jars The tall 1/2 pints or even 1 pints work but these are best
Pot/Pressure cooker (Pc isn't necessary but preferred). For non pc grow google (fractional sterilization)
Vermiculite and Perlite (can be found at hardware stores. you need both.)
Brown rice/Brow Rice Flour (buy it and blend it. blender or coffee grinder. Or you can order it online)
Tin foil
70% Iso alcohol
Plastic Tote (you've probably got one already)
6500K florescent bulb (not a must, just need some light that's not too hot)
1/4 inch drill bit/Drill (not really necessary)
Hammer/Nail
Mixing bowl and spoon (or a bucket and your hand)
Gypsum (don't need it)
Spore syringe
Latex gloves (don't need them but use em if you have em)
Dust mask (don't need it)
Lighter (or better to have a big candle)
I will say that if you live in a country where you can order fully colonized subs (i see you don't) :( , kits are a little more practical but still a waste of money.
I recommend thesporedepot.com for spores.
Good luck
There are plenty of mushrooms where a book and understanding basic anatomy of a mushroom can lead you to a proper macroscopic identification. Others you will have to use a microscope since here are many look alikes. Getting the proper mushroom identification guides for your area and type of mushroom you are looking for will be a big asset as guides for large areas dilute their value greatly. Also most beginner guides will not have chemical and microscopic data.
If you have the proper books, learn the anatomy of a mushroom and identification characteristics, cap, gills, pores, hymenium partial veil, universal veil, volva, mycelium, stipe (stem) etc.
Also join a mushroom club for your area there are experts will help enormously. Also use the internet there are plenty of excellent sources. Just going out hunting and spending a few hours picking apart your mushrooms once you get home is the best thing you can do. Learn before you try eating anything especially with active mushrooms as there are many look alikes.
If you are only interested in actives look up the actives in your area (link in the sidebar) and have an expert who is ok with this kind of mushroom hunting take you out and explain how to ID them

Psilocybin Mushrooms of the World by Paul Stamets.
I cannot recommend this enough. All identification features are explained in length, and there are pictures of many, many different psilocybes all over the world. It is not exactly about homegrowing, but a fantastic resource for learning about the amazing genus Psilocybe, and our friends psilocybin, psilocin, and baeocystin. It's a little technical, but it will give you the background to understand many issues faced by growers.
You can use a fan but it takes FOREVER. Even then, it's still tough to get them cracker dry that way. Oven works - couple hours at 170 degrees, but it's a big energy waster. If/when you order a dehydrator, I can recommend this one. It's wide, has good vertical space between the stacked layers, is expandable [you can add additional trays], and it's affordable. It only has one heat setting [dries at approx 165 degrees] but that's perfect for drying mushrooms.
If you really want to know weight you'll need a scale. Here's a good scale for $8. If you want to keep doing drugs maybe you should be able to dose them accurately. A 3.5g trip and a 5g trip is a HUGE difference. This looks like about 4-5g. Good luck!
Viable spores can be obtained from dried shrooms but they will almost certainly be contaminated, molds, bacteria, but that can be overcome by the use of agar methods. Malt Extract Agar works great. You'll need to learn the basics of aseptic technique but you can. Reusable glass petri dishes are cheap.
Inoculate an agar plate with a tiny speck of gill, if you can see it with the naked eye it's big enough, and watch for the appearance of the mycelium. Of course the culture is grown in the 80 degree F warm box you'll need for the PF cakes. Molds will soon show their characteristic color but the mushroom mycelium remains pure white.
As soon as possible transfer the mycelium to another sterile plate. There will be failures but if you keep at it you will eventually wind up with a pure culture which you can allow to grow out to a few centimeters in diameter. "Rhyzomatous growth" in the mycelium is a very good sign.
In the mean time, crush up a few microscope slides or any other suitable thin glass, mix it with with 50 ml or so of water. DO NOT USE DISTILLED WATER pond water filtered through a coffee filter would be a really good idea. Sterilize the stuff at 15 pounds/square inch in a pressure cooker you can do this at the same time you sterilize the PF cakes. Do this in one of the jars that you would use for the cakes.
To inoculate the cakes use a flame sterilized and well cooled pair of tweezers to peel the colony off of the agar surface, transfer it to the glass and water jar and shake the living daylights out of it until the water is clouded by the shredded mycelium and no large hunks of the colony remain.
Draw some of the water up into a sterile syringe and you've got a means of inoculating the cakes that will result in much faster colonization than spores.
If you aren't scared off yet consider investing in this.
I use a Phillips Grow bulb and a clamp lamp, but that’s because I’m growing my mushrooms in the same room I’m growing my weed, and that room is locked down like Fort Knox against light.
But indirect sunlight should be just fine, my friends growing mushrooms in her craft room/office, and her tub’s only getting indirect sunlight and they’re doing fine. Bod even tells you that sunlight isn’t necessary, mushrooms just look weird apparently without any.
Not by any means perfect but this book made it really easy to get started and have successful grows on my first few tries.
The Psilocybin Mushroom Bible: The Definitive Guide to Growing and Using Magic Mushrooms https://www.amazon.com/dp/1937866289/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_TZ64CbY36KCSZ
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0000BYD0F/
These are what you need. It looks like your grow stalled due to contamination. Two options really are being presented here, you could toss the grow and start new or you could bury those cakes in the garden.
The tops of your cups aren't sealed which is how they usually place grows inside cups. Usually a layer of tape or something to keep moisture in and contaminants out.
Good luck friend.
Well it depends on your style of learning, but there's a great book on Amazon about growing Also, there are TONS of videos on youtube about how to grow. It was a little bit of a learning curve, but once I figured it out, it's actually pretty easy. There's basically 2 phases. Innoculating the jars and growing the mycelium, and then taking those "cakes" (the mycelium covered material) and placing them in a chamber for the mushrooms to grow from them.
Perhaps not a guide, but Michael Pollan's How to Change Your Mind is a great book about history of psychedelic therapy, current events in that field, and looking forward as well as trip reports from the author.
Never tried that and honestly if you have the money and want something to do the job right the link below is for a dehydrator. It’s 40 dollars.
Presto 06300 Dehydro Electric Food Dehydrator https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008H2OELY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_EnLTAbACW6SYE
This will do the trick. I personally have this one, and I love it. Just take a look through amazon and read some reviews.
Nesco FD-75A Snackmaster Pro Food Dehydrator, White - MADE IN USA https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0090WOCN0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_MpLTAbKDGTP1D
I've used this one successfully. I followed the directions until it wasn't getting enough air. Tons of aerial mycelium then fuzzy side pinning. Once it started pinning I cut the bag away completely and stuck it in a bin with a clear top upside down. It fruited from all sides like a giant brf cake. I just misted it a few times a day.
Seemed to work really well. I don't think it would have fruited as well if I left it in the bag.
Now my favorite is to make grain jars. Then mix them in a coir and worm castings mix once colonized.
https://www.amazon.com/All-One-Mushroom-Grow-Bag/dp/B00NHYUMQ8
Shit, they actually ran out.

But there were a lot of other options I had found on amazon for about 0.03 cent per gram more expensive, I had spent about half an hour to forty minutes calculating values of products lol

Things that are called "coco pith" are exactly the same as well btw
Experience tip- these lids wear out and rust after about 5-10 cycles. Next go around buy all plastic lids instead. They don’t rust, are PC safe and are much easier to unscrew when you’re removing the lids to spawn IMO.
Something like this
nice move on the temp controller for your first time! Took me several run throughs before I stepped up to it. I'd invest in a PC sooner than later ;) Looks good!

Amazon.
Jarden Home Brands 12Pk 1/2Pt wide Mouth Jar Canning Jars https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000BYD0F/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_S7pGub08H552X
I'm sure you can find them somewhere locally too.
If I had a chance to start my first grow over, I would've tried a monotub instead. Look into that if you truly can't find the correct jars anywhere.
Get yourself a scale, and try not to skimp. Honestly there's a massive difference between a $5-$15 scale and a $30 scale.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0012TDNAM/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Next, get a grinder. I'm going to assume you already have one, and if not, finding one isn't exactly difficult. (Though this is clearly the champion)
Grind it up, decide how much you want to take, say, 2.5 grams. Keep in mind that potency varies wildly between not just species but individual mushrooms and fruitings.
Even though it varies, its best to have some control over your dose. And there are guides for dosing all over the place.
Bod's Unmodified Monotub TEK suggests using 32qt, 54qt, or 80qt for the mono tub.
from u/c1s2m3 comment you have about 1.75qt of spawn.
i use the 32qt tub, using Bod's tek you need 4-6qt spawn for this sized tub.
when i have less than 4qt of spawn i use food trays or shoe boxes inside my 32 qt unmodified monotubs
i can get two trays in one STERILITE 32 Quart Gasket Box, 4qt of perlite, no liner.
150g dry coco coir, add 750ml boiling water, let cool.
then mix with one qt jar grain spawn, split into two food trays and let get
colonized for 10-14 days.
then uncover put into tub with hydrated perlite with a hydrometer, mist as necessary.
mine are prone to side pinning, but that doesn't bother me one bit.
the cake will shrink, sometimes i flip them and dunk them, others i just bottom or top water depending how what i think it needs.
here it is I bought a used one though so that’s why it was so cheap and it works beautifully. Hopefully there’s a used one
Idk about any light, but these will work:
https://www.amazon.com/Philips-433557-100-watt-Equivalent-Bright/dp/B00M6SR1JM
I am using just one and am happy with it.
You really should sterilize your substrate, and boiling method is long and not a guarantee. I just got the cheapest large canner off Amazon, but you'd probably have decent luck finding one at a Goodwill for like $5 and some patience. But the pressure cooker and dehydrator were the two biggest expenditures accounting for over half the entire budget, everything else is quite cheap.
Tnx, I've read a lot about PF and unmodified tub, but I prefer books. I've ordered this book: https://www.amazon.com/Psilocybin-Mushroom-Bible-Definitive-Mushrooms/dp/1937866289So hopefully that will cover it...
Recommend that they read "How to Change Your Mind" by Michael Pollan:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/1594204225/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_5KpRCbYAR7M98
He makes a well researched argument for the use of entheogens (psychedelics) by older people and those facing terminal illness. The author decided at 60 years old he wanted to try psilocybin, LSD and a couple of other entheogens. He went out and did the research then documents his experience with each. It's an interesting read if you want to understand the potential benefits of psilocybin.
I’m not sure how much knowledge you’ve already acquired but I’ve found The Psilocybin Mushroom Bible to be incredibly helpful getting my hobby off the ground
https://www.amazon.com/Psilocybin-Mushroom-Bible-Definitive-Mushrooms/dp/1937866289
get a scale for sure. i'd recommend this . $10 is very cheap considering it weighs to the centigram. add another $3 for a 100g calibration weight and you'll be set.
These are what I use for my tubs. I do the Bods unmodded tub tek, I just place these directly on the lid. Depending on the setup or what tek you're following this would work.
::Edit:: What I mean when I say "I place these directly on my lid" I've got them in a deep dome fixture that sits on top of the lid, I don't just lay the light bulb up their haha.
https://www.amazon.com/VIVOSUN-Seedling-Digital-Thermostat-Standard/dp/B016MKY7C8/ref=zg_bs_14252891_3?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=2DHNSWK6XBQBWV7NQVKW
These seedling mats worked perfect for me in winter
this video got me started and this book is what I use now
the video is slightly outdated but you can watch the whole thing in a sitting. it will show you what you're getting yourself into. the book has so many details and high quality color photographs that it's hard to beat. it also pays proper respect to Stamets's book.
I tried using desiccant for drying, and it's way too much hassle.
Just pick up a dehydrator somewhere. Check the local Goodwill stores and then Walmart if you need it now. But this guy is under $40 and free one-day shipping.
Mirro PC on amazon is like 70$.

American Weigh Digital Scale is pretty cheap on amazon
.01g sensitivity
You bought this one ye? That is was above my budget shit haha and 50 bucks seems like a good deal cause thats only 35GBP and not 150 wtf. What about this one it says it goes up to 14,5lb/100kpa which did translate to PSI so only 14,5PSI will that actually matter fuck?
By far the best, hands down:
https://www.amazon.com/Psilocybin-Mushrooms-World-Identification-Guide/dp/0898158397
There's a bit of a learning curve to learn the lingo, and you may need a microscope to differentiate certain species in your area, but it will get you closer than most other resources.
Yeah they’re called Gelatin Capsules . There are different sizes so you might want to look into that a bit. Also, it’s probably going to be a pain in the ass to fill them if you don’t have a tray for it. There are also small machines that’ll help you fill them on Amazon. Then you’re free to go.
They're 00 capsules, here ya go :) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00428B6X6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_lbJ2AbS96XGAT

Defitnely worth the few bucks! I use mine to weigh coffee too if I'm feeling precise.
Yes, actually. Condensation can be both: the process of the vapor condensing into a liquid or the result of that process, whereas condensate is always the result of that process; e.g., in this case, the water droplets themselves.
I would suggest that when doing G2G, either get a PC for the jars you would transfer to, or use the whole brown rice like in the Broke Boi Bulk Tek. Why take the same risk if you don't have to?
You can get a new 23 qt PC from Amazon [here](Presto 01781 23-Quart Pressure Canner and Cooker https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000BYCFU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_cz0WCb8C6N5D2) for only $70 right now (I paid $80 when I got mine). Or you can probably find a similar one used for $40-50.
Yeah, that's cooker + shipping.

you can pick them as soon as the veils start to break, they wont get any bigger. They will just open more and begin to start releasing spores. the reason is that they are most potent at this point (how much more potent is arguable). If you are not making spore prints, i would pick them as soon as the veil breaks, but it wont hurt anything to let them open. if this is your first grow I recommend letting a few open all the way just to see the process.
This book is highly recommended and help me through my first few grows: https://www.amazon.com/Growing-Gourmet-Medicinal-Mushrooms-Stamets/dp/1580081754
Be very careful using Reddit a resource for mushrooms, I have seen horrible information and really bad advise on here.
send me a message if you have any more questions.
So you ordered 4 of These, inoculated, waited for full colonization, transplanted into a prepared monotub full of substrate and harvested? It's that simple?

This one works perfectly, no controls, no power switch, just plug it in and it dries em at 165F. Dehydrators go to that temperature so it's safe to make jerky. Everybody uses this kind and nobody complains about potency loss.
