I use (and recommend) Malt Extract Agar (MEA). I buy it here:

You can use just about any agar and don't let the price scare you. A 0.5 lbs bottle of agar last me about a year and I do a lot of agar work. It takes 50g to make a litre of agar (0.5 lbs of agar powder will make 4.5 litres of agar. A 0.5 lbs of agar can pour close to 400 plates depending on how thick you pour them.

Sometimes I do make my own agar but MEA works good on everything I tried. Feel free to make your own if you can find the supplies.

Or maybe it's because selling drug cultivation supplies would be a surefire way to get the community shut down on a website that doesn't allow my users in /r/snackexchange to trade a bottle of beer or a cigarette. Microscopy isn't some stupid "SWIM" cover by armchair lawyers, it's the only legal reason you should have those syringes. Your choice to break the law, however wrong it might be, and then brag about it hurts more than one individual vendor. The rest of us are just interested in microbiology and I don't know where I could source an isolated strain in the wild without risking contamination, making this an invaluable resource. And as someone who's purchased from MM666, the samples arrived within like two days and were better than the samples I'd purchased from actual websites before.

edit: Also, here you go. They're really neat organisms. Understanding them is important for reasons beyond the novelty of looking at something small.

My personal suggestion lol

Snag some sterile swabs off of Amazon and make some spore swabs. Then seal them up with sterilized foil and stash those in a sterile mason jar. You'll have so many PE spores that will last you a life time. Also, I recommend giving me one them. :-)

I know that itchy feeling! My cats got the fleas and spread them everywhere! I used different powders and diomataceous earth but they were pretty useless. I got rid of them slowly with a sticky flycatcher paper and a little light to attract them.
