I personally use 3 monitors at this point, 2 are identical and one is almost the same, for me it’s important they are the same my OCD gets to me if the screens don’t lineup with each other. If you buy a Dell your almost guaranteed even if that model is updated and you go back for #2 at a later date they will be very similar.
Don’t get caught up in the UHD 4K hype, the higher the resolution honestly of my 1440p ultra wide monitors isn’t very efficient for tax prep, there is a lot of horizontal space to cover from left to right, While they are very nice monitors, most tax software isn’t optimized to be run in such a wide window. A good deal on a very large ultra wide curved screen might be nice, using fusion pro to split into 2 monitors as previously mentioned.
If you only want to purchase one monitor now, I would recommend some sort of laptop stand like that In the link below, you can then use a wireless keyboard/mouse and line your laptop monitor up visually with the new monitor.

  1. raise your fees; if you're in CA you can charge $400 - $2,000 for a 1040; higher fees also gets rid of headache clients
  2. get your EA designation and keep studying tax; you already have a lot of clients so you don't need a CPA license but it wouldn't hurt
  3. read The Intentional Accountant for strategies on running an accounting firm https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0692207007/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  4. Network with local CPAs. Learn from their wisdom and experience.

This is the one I use. Works with any container, and has been going strong for 2+ years. Even bought the casserole size for dinners at home (connectioned to a timer or smart plug)

As for recipes: all kinds of stuff, it doesn't have to be special. Lasagna, enchiladas, soups, stews, chicken, brisket, omlets, even the occasional MRE side dish pouch. It's just a tiny hot plate in a fool bag set to 180F so it doesn't cook out the water or overcook the food.

We are using this book for the main textbook in my partnership class this summer. I would also recommend reading "The Logic of Subchapter K" which is a short book meant to help explain these often confusing concepts.

If you have limited outputs, this might help: https://smile.amazon.com/Plugable-Universal-Docking-Station-Ethernet/dp/B00ECDM78E/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=plugable&qid=1570318092&sr=8-4

We use these plugables at our firm and at home. I have having to buy a new docking station every time I buy a new laptop. These things have saved us bucks over the last four years.
