Did a test print with a [PLA](https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077VV7SMH/) I really like and it turned out very good. Just a raft, because it always works, and no support. Screw holes all look great.

Kicked off a pretty sort of vase mode print that will finish about the time I get off work tomorrow. Then PETG tuning and a final part tomorrow.

I didnt understand which connector, now I do.... 16mm aviation connectors...i assume since you are talking about the bed, the 4 pin..... you can get new ones on amazon cheap... personally I dont like what they chose...

I plane to move and relocate my controller to a new case I print so I looked up all the connector types and some improvements
For the thermistor wire I'd use a jst-sm connector
.... all that said I'd just leave the 4 pin connector hole empty to run the wire through and either use the connectors above or run the all the way to the board
I would go for Sainsmart TPU filaments... a variety of colors, reasonable pricing, decent quality, etc. Should be available in DE too I think. Try this link.
