So unfortunately, the mic did not work for me.
Just a quick heads up, I did not buy the MIC that you directly linked as I was too excited to wait 3 weeks for it to arrive from China.
Instead, I ended up buying THIS one instead. It looked like the exact same one you linked on eBay.
One interesting point though: when I hooked the MIC up to my hub, USB Devices under PowerEventManager definitely recognized it. Here is a link to that image.
Does USB Devices list your MIC as "AK5371"?
Thanks for the reply. I bought this one off Amazon so I'll return it and get this Easycap UTV007.

I am reading back through the original email I received from Timur and it says that Vcam2 should be installed already with the kernel. It also says I can manually install it with the apk. Why would I need to if it comes preinstalled? I'm wondering if it isn't installed on my Nexus7. I tried to download the apk but the file link to download his kernel/vcam2 apk has been disabled (probably only works for a short period of time - it's been a year).
A post was deleted that mentioned a really good variable power converter:

Sometimes adding a littls more voltage could solve the problem though i would try to trouble shoot your setup first.
Do you know what otg your friend has?
This is the cable that is recommended by most ppl on this site.

Maybe try to unplug any usb devices that arent needed and see if that helps.
It is kinda strange how it happens after a certain time period.
In most cases it would be a power supply issue its really hard to say for sure whats causing the drop.

You need to lower the voltage, my tablet started doing the same thing until i used this for power and lowered the voltage to ~4.2v. Using the voltage adjustment knob on the regulator i just turned the voltage down from 5v slowly until the tablet stopped saying it was charging when there was nothing plugged into the micro usb port.
Okay I'll try that for the noise.
I'm also having problems with keeping my devices powered. And audio dropping from my dac.
I got the same power setup running my hub and the otg cable as before removing the battery.
Seems like when power runs through the the otg the amps drop on my converter. When i turny car off I can see the amps raise to between 0.50 amps and 1.00 amps.
If I keep my powermate volume knob connected to the hub audio seems to drop from my dac. If I disconnect the powermate then it seems to not happen.
The tablet cycles on and off properly.
It seems to me that the power coming in from the USB OTG connector is causing the converter to drop amps.
This is the converter

It seems to detect battery full and charge. And this might be what's causing the amps to drop. It's got settings for voltage regulations and current regulations. Although current regulation doesn't seem to work manually. Do you think I should try using a more basic converter ?
