I did well in both Econometrics courses (399,497), and would say definitely check this text book out. You should be able to find a PDF somewhere. In my section with Fossati there was some really basic coding (Shazam), and the stats/maths were very introductory. Understanding basic calculus (multivariate inc.) as well as introductory stats (distributions, expected values, hypothesis testing) is most the course imo.

They're also both a lot of fun. :) If you're looking for interesting Econ courses, those specific 400 level ones are pretty interesting, since you typically get directed to read papers with substantial findings and get a good taste of that particular field. Labor Economics and Urban Economics are both great.

One thing you can try is googling "intro modern hebrew syllabus" and see what texts those introductory courses are using (I know the UofA only has courses on biblical hebrew, but many other institutions teach modern hebrew). Here's a few books on Amazon that I found off of those syllabi .

That said, they are not super high end - but they are pretty utilitarian, vivid, the ink dries quick and in general they drastically changed taking notes by hand, for me.

I use disposables for my every day stuff. I have several fancy fountain pens but they dry out if not used regularly and require maintenance. I like to just grab and go. For me the act of taking notes isn't about writing stuff to read later, it's about mentally engaging with what is being presented. Writing notes acts as a mnemonic to help cement that and fountain pens provide a more tactile experience when writing. I type way faster than I can write, but for some reason typing doesn't help me learn.

They are 4+1 so red, blue, green and black ink plus a mechanical pencil. The cap on the back comes off and it’s an eraser. You can also refill them and they come in a variety of sizes from 0.3 to 0.7. I have three of these. I also love mildliners and Stabilo swing highlighters . Aside from 4+1 uni jet stream, I like the Pilot opt , this is neat because you can shake the pencil or push the back of the pencil to get more lead. These pencils are also super lightweight and my go-to for sketching. I could go on foreverrrrr but those are some of my top faves!

Depends on your personal preference. First, you need to decide if you prefer ball point or felt tip. You also need to consider if you want a wide range of colours.

I have come to love fine felt tip because the come in so many colours, as colour coding my notes helps me remember more from my studying. Staedtler Triplus Fineliners is what I use, and yes, I like them so much I bought the 36 pack. These do not smudge unless you are writing on glossy paper. However, if your page of felt pen written notes get wet, it turns into an illegible page of tie-dye.

Some people like ballpoint better because it makes for smoother pen strokes but I can't speak to best ballpoint brands as I don't use ballpoint often.

If know how expensive that pen is. This is the best and cheapest alternative, in case you can't find yours.

Hey, I had the same worries as you, so I just invested in one of these. Its quite a bit heftier than the average lock and you cant get a pair of bolt cutters on it, so unless they are going to break the locker door itself it seems like a good bet.

What you're asking for is close to stealing. The reason that this book is available from the Ualberta library is because the U of A has paid for this privilege. If someone did what you're asking, you're not giving the author any sort of compensation for their work.

They don't sell them in many places anymore but the techpoint V5 by pilot has been my go to for 8 years now. Just so were clear the link below is heavily marked up you can get them for about 5$ at Walmart or even dollar stores now although stocking is random. they come in black or blue ink.

  If, by some freak accident, I found myself in a class that used Jensen's textbook, I'd demand that DeVry refund my tuition.
  
  For comparison, this chemistry textbook's first author is also a non-tenured lecturer. Notice that it has several authors, is published by a reputable textbook publisher, is on its 7th edition, and does not fill pages with silly cartoons about high-velocity lead poisoning. (Also it's expensive.)
