I've been reading Persimmon Takes on Humanity, based on a few reviews. I have to say I'm pleasantly surprised at how well it is written. I like stories where animals speak to each other in a language I can understand. It is both heart-wrenching and heart-warming at the same time, and really requires thought on the part of the reader.
