I'm glad you asked, yes, I used a variable ND fader by Neewer. This photo was shot at F/16 with the fader cranked pretty far dark and you can see in the photo that it is very sharp. This was using my $100 Canon 50mm F/1.8 at F/16 so diffraction was in play, with a cheap Tiffen filter on it and an even cheaper ND fader and it turned out very very sharp. I would highly recommend the Neewer variable ND to anyone in need of an ND filter. I got mine for $5 on Amazon with free shipping because of prime, you can also see other photos I've taken with it linked to the Amazon page.
I knew it! \o/ So gorgeous.
Edit: This Nature episode is where I first learned of "the land of falling lakes". Highly recommend it.
Looks like this.
I wish they had reverse-tilt-shift lenses that would make tiny miniatures look like absolutely real giant stuff.
I have a set like this. It doesn't suck.
Circular B+W that is threaded for my wide angle lens, 77mm. I used a 6 stop filter. I have heard that the Cokin ones can have some bad cast and can be pretty punishing on your sharpness. I have two lenses that are 77mm, and they happen to be 2/3 of the lenses I use most. I will see if I can do a step down ring to put it on my Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 at some point.

Probably a point and shoot. That's about 16MP, which is common. MP count doesn't really mean much.
EDIT: Here is an example of a really cheap crappy camera that has 16MP. There's a Kodak EasyShare P&S that's even cheaper and also has 16MP.
I hate that I don't know how to link you to the right spot, but hit "look inside" on this book. You want to read the chapter titled "Hold Fast to Your Children: Death in Hot Water". It gives actual accounts of people who went into the pools. One man dove, most fell accidentally; either way it isn't pretty.
