It’s not plastic surgery but have you heard of Nova Threads? Or PDO Threads? They are small threads that are injected in the skin fascia under the surface of the skin and they have small barbs in the that once placed under the skin tissue you smooth back the tissue to get the tightness you’re looking for and the bars connect with the cologne matrix to smooth out wrinkles and create better definition of skin. The procedure is less than an hour and you’re in and out and can go back to work. There can be some slight swelling on some folks, none for others. The Dr I worked with administered these with great results!
Edit: I should also include that vitamin C plays a HUGE role in stimulating collagen in your skin which is the foundation of the matrix that helps keep skin supple and firm looking. If you are in an area where you can go get a high dose vitamin C IV (called a Myers Cocktail) those would be beneficial to get maybe every other week to help give your body the nutrients it needs for skin elasticity and smoothing out lines and wrinkles which can suddenly show up from weight loss. OR oral vitamin C can be taken regularly also... 3,000-5,000mg taken in divided doses throughout the day work well too! (This is the equivalent of 3-5 emergen C packets). Don’t take them all at once or it’ll give you diarrhea. If you can buy buffered Vitamin C through a naturopathic physician those products are best.
Designs for Health is an amazing brand too that is available on Amazon at the same price you’d get in a drs office. And since this is buffered it is going to be easier on your gut (won’t give you diarrhea). 1teaspoon is 2,000 mg so only 1t morning and evening would be good. (PS. I have zero affiliation with DFH-I just really really love their products and sold the crap out of them when I worked with the NMD).

Good morning,
Its Friday and today is especially good for TWO reasons.
I finished my book reading August goal! It was a pretty short book, it was a reprint of the Hiroshima article but it was a powerful read. If anyone is interested, it has my highest recommendation. A disturbing read, informative, and unlike anything Ive known prior about this historic tragedy.
My next book for September is all ready to go. I am reading Tripping over the Truth which explores cancer as a metablic theory. I like sciency things and learning and I find the information around this theory highly fascinating :)
Helping one of my friends get started on keto, with the approach of giving her resources and answering specific questions only. Been burnt too many times otherwise :P
My morning goal is to post the haus-keeping before I leave work, so keep an eye out for that!
Happy Friday all <3
Hello Beautiful Bombshells!
Dinner last night was super delicious. Pretty good for someone that had no idea what they were making 3 hours before :) I went diving into the meat hole and came up with a package of chicken thighs. I coated the defrosted thighs with some poultry seasoning, TJ's Onion Salt, salt & pepper. I air fried them for 12 minutes on 390°F, turned over and air fried for another 12 minutes on 390°F, turned over one more time and air fried for 5 minutes on 400°F. Absolutely perfect!
I used this recipe for the turnips and then I sautéed some broccolini in olive oil & garlic. For dessert, we had Brownies with Walnuts and a little whipped cream with walnuts on the side. I used this mix I got off Amazon. (Thanks for the recommendation u/Jenn_Lnz!) It's kind of expensive, but if you look at what you would pay out for a keto brownie? Worth it! My hubby really liked them. I kind of like the homemade ones better, but I've always preferred homemade over box mixes. They were super easy to make though and so fast too. I also had 1/4 cup marcona almonds, 1/3 cup Pumpkin Seeds to round out my OMAD.
Tonight, we will be going out to eat with one of our friends, and I leave for Indiana tomorrow morning, so hubby has two leftover chicken thighs all to himself :) I've got so much to do today and hope I can get it all done! If not, I'm not going to stress. I will have about 3 hours tomorrow morning before we leave for the airport and anything I forget, I can always buy there! I'm so excited to see my family!!!!
I hope ya'll have a wonderful weekend and KCKO! I'll try to check in when I can while I'm gone! Much love ladies and welcome to all the ladies who have joined our little home away from home :) XOXOXO
Good morning ladies!
Where to start today...well, in April I decided that my first goal would be to fit into this beautiful blue flowery dress for my friend's wedding, which is on Sunday. It is size 12 from J Crew with absolutely zero stretch or give. (Here's a pic if you follow me on Instagram.) I could only zip it half way and the top had about 2 inches left. (I was roughly a size 16, and prob pushing that tbh, when I started my keto/OMADing in February.)
This morning, for the hell of it, I tried it on... and I zipped it up on my own! HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME! (Today is my birthday.)
eeeeeeeeeeeee!
I couldn't ask to feel better on my birthday. We threw a big backyard party for my birthday yesterday, with so many friends and family there. I really appreciate that, especially after having several "sad" birthdays when our daughter was a baby and we didn't have the mental capacity to throw parties. Yesterday morning I woke up at 7am and was like "I'm going running!". I haven't had that kind of energy in the morning in years and years and it made me feel like "me" again. I biked down to the high school track and did 100m sprints for 20 minutes. After I got back, my daughter wanted to go running, so we ended up run/walking through the neighborhood for almost an hour. It was way more running than I bargained for, but it felt so awesome to have the energy to keep up with her. That's the energy I was really missing last fall and winter, and it's one of those things that makes me feel like "me." I love being an athletic person who can now run for an hour and a half on a dime like that.
I owe y'all a long post on all the science I've learned, but I wanna make a quick note that Delay Don't Deny is 100% worth a read. It's written by a laywoman and is very accessible. I read it in one sitting, and felt like it was like if your best girlfriend who's knowledgeable about keto and IF sat you down and told you the honest truth. Great read. Happy to mail my copy to anyone (in the US) :)
Damn, I'm slammed tired from yesterday! Gym, and then non-stop garden work, both my own own yard and the Market Garden. Damn, how I love watching other people work! Trust me, I got mine, too. I managed to clock myself in the head while trying to lift a t-post driver, yes, I saw stars and birdies and now am sporting a nice goose egg on my forehead. All I want to do now is crawl back in bed, but I have to get moving here in a bit, to take my sister to a doctor's appointment, then work after.
We have a kind of peace here now, with all of the young dudes calling the local detox center today and getting their skinny butts into treatment. They've been quite helpful of late, trying to clean up after themselves, being respectful of our needs (can ya please smoke downwind so the smell doesn't get blown into the house?), offering to do yard work. I feel like this peace is fragile, but for now I'll take it.
I do my gym work at a US chain called Planet Fitness. They offer massage and tanning as a part of the deluxe monthly deal, and a thing called Total Body Enhancement. It's like a stand up tanning thing, but instead of UV, the bulbs put out a red light that is supposed to stimulate collagen production in the skin, thus helping diminish wrinkles etc. There's also a vibratory plate you stand on for some kind of passive exercise. I viewed this whole thing with great suspicion when I joined, but I decided to do some research about the red light business. I found a small study that seemed to be reasonably well designed that found some benefit. So yesterday, I decided, what the heck, I'll give it a go, twice a week for a month. But the problem turned out to be that I didn't wear my glasses into the room, and didn't read the instructions. I guess one of the meds I'm taking may be photo-reactive. I'm not hurting or burnt today, so that's a win. I'll do a better job of reading the directions next time! I'll check in later with any new information.
Moanday it is, but make it moan louder as you make it happen, friends!
This week has been completely out of routine doing storm cleanup. Yesterday was starting to get back to normal, but yall physical labor is exhausting. Everything hurts down to my fingernails. I made chili and it was delicious. Cobbled together what I had and three or four different recipes to make it mine. Even had an epiphany that I didn't need to go to the store for a freaking can of tomatoes...I had tomatoes on hand and could make my own fresh in the food processor. How you like me now, <insert TV chef name here >.
But the highlight was the corn bread . It came out like corn bread pound cake almost - in a great way. It smelled so damn good in the oven and the taste was the stuff bakery dreams are made of. I couldn't find my 9" cast iron so loaded up my 6". Had to throw some foil on top so it didn't over brown but it just turned out crispy on the edges so yay. The key was the corn flavored extract. This stuff isn't cheap but it really gives it that authentic smell and flavor. I can't wait to try Christmas tamales now. I used this recipe. Added 3/4c shredded cheese just because and I meant to add a jalapeño but put them all in the chili instead. Oops. I used this corn extract. Yes, pricey but at 6 drops a use it is basically a lifetime supply. :D
Have a great week. Can't wait to see what you ladies have up your sleeves for Halloween the next few days.
Good Morning. Happy Friday! Happy Payday!
I believe I ate too much last night. I was feeling accomplished after all my post work errands and celebratory since I had my first episode of RuPaul's Drag Race UK to watch. Luckily, as people, we can move on. I have done my treadmill and have my food planned.
Today, bf was a whey-Ketologie smoothie. Lunch is the last of the keto easy Asian chicken and cauliflower rice. Snack is a portion of Catalina crunch and a portion of dark chocolate. Dinner is probably scrambled eggs and green salad and some Spanish cheese (from the Costco "Spanish tapas cheese 'plate'").
Low carb tortillas were on sale, and I do have greens from the farm share, so I'm thinking tuna salad makes sense for next week's lunches. I'm probably also going to make another sheet pan chicken and roasted veggies for the week's dinners. I'm thinking barbecue seasoning would be nice.
Off to go get ready to work and pay those bills! I did craft last night: I darned a hole in a sweater and knitted two repeats on my sisters sock.
KCKO and drink your water!
Hello, egg fast day #2 is in the books. I broke after work and indulged in 1 tablespoon of hwc in a glass of cold brew coffee. I am down 1.5 lbs in two days! I will be sticking with it through Thursday dinner! One huge benefit is I am rarely hungry, and I could not finish my 3-egg omelet last night! The grilled cheese chaffles are a keeper and I think I could do them every day at work for lunch, and try to change my daily keto plan to be more egg-based.
I bought Carolyn Ketchum's Keto Soups and Stews book and I will buy everything to make her Taco Soup on Friday for dinner. It looks amazing! It is my first Keto cookbook. I usually just browse google if I want a particular recipe.
Lunch was egg salad and a grilled cheese chaffle with some moon cheese, a Babybel, and a cheese stick. Dinner was a 2-egg omelet with Havarti cheese. I had one cappuccino cheesecake in the afternoon.
Today will be much of the same, although I hope my afternoon hunger is less. I have tea to enjoy after my coffee is finished. Sparkling flavored seltzer is definitely a big help for me.
I'm below flair weight!
KCKO ♥
Honestly, I am pretty damn picky when it comes to tubing. There are a lot of ways for it to go south and be less than enjoyable and I am not about that life. What I would do if I were you (and when I am me on a new-to-me river) is find a livery that does tube rentals and do that for your first time out. What that does is usually puts you on a generally slow and shallow stretch of river that has been cleared of tube popping debris, lets you see if you like it, and, if it is just you and your kids, has the bonus of picking you up and taking you back to where you put in. Then you know for the next time and you buy this or this. We have both in our small flotilla and have used them dozens of times. Some extra pro tips: clip a life jacket to at least one of them so in case you do pop a tube you still have a way to float and pick up a cheap $1 plastic paddle from Goodwill if you ever see them, they are great for pushing off of potential obstacles.
edit- OR drive 2-ish hours to u/tipsycup’s kayak and tube livery and I will handle it all for you! F-r-e-e, plus keto boat snacks!
Today is my mid-year review with my new boss. For those keeping count, she’s the third this year. I am feeling very defeated and trying to not let that color my talks with her. We had a bad call a couple weeks ago and I need to apologize for it because I feel I behaved unprofessionally. I can point out why things are tough, why I’m stressed, etc. but I’m tired of the story. I want to just do the work and stop the drama. I don’t think it’s possible though.
I’m reading the book The Secret Thoughts of Successful Women because (like many) I suffer heavily from imposter syndrome. I can come up with all the reasons why I’m where I’m at and all my shortcomings and rarely do I feel I’ve earned anything. It’s really tough. I know that I’m not alone, intellectually I know I’m smart and provide value, but it’s tough to shake.
I am looking forward to the weekend and resting and then next week is a short week. The trip to LA for a wedding is finally upon us and I’m not prepared. My dress will be picked up on the 20th so hopefully that will help me feel better about it. I need to decide on what shoes to wear. Comfort and good looking, or not as comfortable but fits the dress better. I’m leaning on comfort ;)
The Cuisinart is similar to the one I've seen Maria Emmerich recommend. Same brand but she uses this one.
