I'm exploring the idea of making a DIY Brew Jacket. It appears to just be a peltier thermal cooler with a heatsync and fan, and a rod that submerges into the wort. And of course a temperature controller. $200 is way overpriced, I think it would be under $50 DIY.
The only tricky part is attaching the rod between the heatsync and the peltier device. I'm thinking a copper rod like this would work, but I have no idea how I would couple it to the rest of the setup. Any ideas?
