It's pretty similar. They're made to just screw in to the sockets. We've had ours for about 4 yrs without any issue. It's not the most plush, but we're constantly falling asleep on it accidentally. Again, probably better couches out there, but it's a good value and you can test out the firmness yourself at a store if you're near one.
