Morality and the Holocaust. A topic that extends across many other branches including cultural theory, psychology religion, and literary studies. The motivation behind this topic is how the atrocity reframes (or should reframe) our views on morality, analyzing what moral theories might have condoned its escalation, how to approach historical events and what we can gain from studying them, and so forth. There's actually been some very interesting work done within the last few decades from Philosophers who have used psychological experiments from Phillip Zimbardo (Stanford Prison Experiment) and Solomon Asch (conformity experiments) on perpetrator thinking in the context of the Holocaust.

If anyone is looking for an amazing collection of essays and a great introduction to the topic check out A Holocaust Reader: Responses to the Nazi Extermination, edited by Michael L. Morgan, who I had the wonderful opportunity of having as a professor when he was visiting mine at the time. Some of the people featured include Levi, Adorno, Arendt, Buber, Wiesel, and Fackenheim.

" Non-Zionist, Non-Israeli person" aka any Holocaust historian who ever was in Israel or born in Israel or lives in Israel. Your conference had David Duke..a KKK member...enough said. You can try and legitimize all you want, but it only shows your true face. And you wonder why people think of your country in a negative light? you don't need to defend the indefensible..or perhaps you do because you could be jailed in Iran for not toeing the line? amirite?
