I'd personally recommend this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00X5X2Z66?keywords=acer%20chromebook%2015&qid=1453465464&ref_=sr_1_11&sr=8-11
It's cheaper, and it has an i5 instead of an i3.
Thanks for the link, I think this one suits my needs although a little big in size/form factor: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00X5X2Z66
Also found this m2 ssd that should work for my needs 128gb if plenty for me as I don't store much data. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KLTPUU0
Thanks for posting the buyers guide again!
If you excuse the obvious hyperbole, MacBooks are extremely overpriced, and a much cheaper computer can easily outperform them. A good enough chromebook, probably something with an i5 or similar, could easily do everything a MacBook could and more if you installed Linux onto it (you can wipe ChromeOS and install SeaBIOS to achieve non-emulated/sideloaded linux)
i5 chromebook example: https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Chromebook-CB5-571-58HF-15-6-Inch-Intel/dp/B00X5X2Z66/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1499814408&sr=8-1&keywords=i5+chromebook
notice how it is half the price of the cheapest MBP. You could probably find one with a much larger SSD/HD if you looked hard enough. I would, however, recommend going with a normal laptop (not mac/chrome), but to prove his example, MacBooks are indeed essentially overpriced chromebooks.
