It is still early, but all indications point to 4.2GHz on the 1950X being a realistic expectation. Amazon store page shows 4.2GHz as the XFR boost, and those that have gotten their hands on units have publicly stated that TR overclocks significantly better than R7. You are right, best to wait until the chip actually releases to get concrete numbers. Suffice to say though, the 1950X is shaping up to be one hell of a chip.

Depends on what type of video editing, if you are doing a lot of re-encoding / fast editing large amounts of footage for VP9, H.264 or H.265, an RTX GPU can be helpful, then just get the cheapest one possible (RTX 2060?) and if you won't need a lot of encoding power, then just whatever cheap card you can get that can do basic video decoding and support your monitors, maybe like GTX 1050.

CPU you will just need raw power, number of cores and IPC is irrelevant. If you get GTX 1050 for $130, for example, you have $370 more to spend on CPU, that means you can get like a Ryzen 1950X (https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B074CBH3R4) + motherboard.

Also like to point out there is a networking card (1gigabit wired only) built into almost all motherboards so not to worry unless you want wifi networking or 10GbE, in which case you need an card

The 7900x failed miserably vs the 1950x, do more research before spewing sales numbers and it was never sold out on amazon... ever

The 1950x is $879 and the 7900x is $920, theyre pretty much the same price as well just like in the UK.
