So I would ask you consider the Toshiba Portégé, have her take a look at the form of it. It's basically a Macbook Air with more power, better better battery life, and Windows. If she thinks it looks nice we can go on with choosing a nice one for her.

I am going to say that the $1600 Macbook Air is not a bad choice to get all that she wants.

How flexible is your budget?

This might be a little late, but Amazon has a 11.6" Air for $850! (No tax either.) Not sure if it's a Black Friday deal or not. Good luck - I switched for college and I'm still trucking along on my MacBook 4 years later (though it's about time to get a new one!).

If you wanted to get into gaming, you shouldn't have bought a mac. And as someone stated in a different comment, there is a program to get Windows on your Mac. Assuming that you can even run this game on your Mac book. It is not a very powerfull laptop. And they are expensive, you could have gotten a good gaming PC for the price of the Mac Book.

Here, (new) You could have gotten an extremely good Gaming PC for that price.
